MMR vaccinations and autism-no connection. What do you think?
A new study clearly shows no link whatsoever between the MMR vaccination and autism (ASD).
Read the article, and let me know what you think....
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/afp/health_autism_vacci...
Here is my take:
-I am tired of the pseudoscience on this issue and the innacurate info spread online (and through Y!A).
-We have known for many years there wasn't a link and this study finally closes the door.
-I find no fault in parent's concern for the welfare of their child, my issue is with the scare tactics, lies, and half-truths that scare the wits out of parents and actually result in the death and/or suffering of thousands of children from a preventable disease (what happened in the U.K.....read the article)
-OK.....what do you think?
EDIT:
I have answered a few questions on the topic of the "junk" that vaccines contain. I am schooled in microbiology and immunology, and vaccines were a large part of my science training in school.

near the middle of my answer I address the issue of aluminum, formaldehyde, and mercury.

I agree with you.
I don't blame the parents who choose to not vaccinate, I think they are just uneducated and misinformed on the subject. There is way to many "anti vaccine" websites that post wrong information.. that is clearly untrue.
Those same parents who say they don't vaccinate because of what is in the vaccinations, well I will hope those parents don't use anything like soap, disinfectants, eat anything not organic, drink any unpurified water, soda etc. They don't live in the city because of the effects of smog on children, they don't let their kids play outside because of the soil and environmental effects etc. It is unrealistic to protect your children from the chemicals and such that this world poses on us... the same types of chemicals if not WORSE that are found in those vaccinations.

I just read a similar article and was about to post a similar question yours.
Here is the article I read...
http://www.cdc.gov/od/science/iso/concerns/mmr_aut...
I don't believe there is a link with the vaccine and autism, the shot is given at the same time autism usually starts, which some parents think there is a connection. People also want to put the blame on something...the unknown is a scary place...especially with our kids.
As a parent, I don't blame other parents for pushing the vaccine off until the baby is older or separating into 3 separate shots.
My daughter is 10 1/2 months old and she is due for that vaccine at 18 months and I don't have a problem giving it to her.

Screwing with the human immune system may well be the worst idea in human history.
The blind greed and arrogance of the "we are so smart look what we can do" crowd may well lead to the human race being unable to adapt to the next super bug and the death of billions.
The studies referred to in the article are piles of propaganda crap. You are the epitome of pseudoscience and inaccurate info
Vaccines definitely cause autism and you have to look past the brainwashing your getting or got at the pharmaceutical company owned medical school and use your own head.
There has never been and there will never will be a REAL study done showing the metals you mention are safe to inject in to a human being because they are so toxic that no study can possibly be designed to show them safe.
Here's the point. We that know these vaccines are dangerous don't have to prove anything!-your side has to prove they are safe. No study exists proving this and while this seems an obvious thing to undertake it will not be done because it will prove they are not safe and your paycheck will be endangered.
If any disinterested bystanders read this far go to this site and read what some real doctors and scientists have to say.

I think that these "studies" can prove whatever they want to prove. One year we say that infants should sleep on their belly to prevent SIDS. The next year we change that and say to put them on their backs to prevent SIDS.
And with this, people would say that "they" put all sorts of funk into our vaccinations that cause this and that. And then you have others that say there is NO connection to any of that.
I don't think the FDA knows what's going on half the time. Or whoever it is that submits these studies.
I think bottom line is that if autism was easy to track or trace, then we'd have a cure right now. Since we do not have a cure or a definite treatment because we can't find that information, then I'd say they can't prove a connection is valid or invalid.
Just my opinion....

I dont believe that, what was the excuse before MMr came into practise?
My daughter has a very mild autisim and I believe its somthing she was born with and not injected in, I also believe medics are too quick to name kids these days, my daughter is 7 today and gradually growing out of all the things that got her diagnosed, but its with her for life whatever now she has been labelled.

The most common causes of hemorrhoids are straining during bowel movements and obesity. Follow these essential hemorrhoid prevention tips and you may not even have to delve into any hemorrhoid treatments https://tr.im/h3T7U
If you’re straining during bowel movements, there is no doubt that you are suffering from constipation, and obesity only heightens your chance of experiencing these digestive issues. The best solution for hemorrhoids is to not have them at all!

If you had a child that was normal one day, vaccinated the next and was severely autistic on the third day you would think differently.
That was my friend's son. My son has mild autism and looking back we can see the signs from when he was born. His vaccinations had nothing to do with it. My son's friend on the other hand - well that was something else. You can do all the studies you want and post them on here but you'll never convince her or me that the vaccine had nothing to do with it.
Was it a gene he already had and the vaccine triggered it - that's my guess. She believes it was the vaccine completely. Who knows?

I have never been 100% convinced of the link, but I am not 100% against it. The CDC and the FDA are still leery about stating that there is absolutely no link, they state that many studied do not prove a casual link. There is no door closed, despite your personal take. Even the CDC is still continuing to investigate the issue.
I am a parent who chooses not to vaccinate my children, not because of the Autism theory. My reasons for not vaccinating are many, mainly centered around the ingredients in vaccinations.
I believe that injecting my children with things such as formaldehyde, mercury (trace amounts), aluminium, paint thinner, coolant, anti-freeze, detergent phenols, MSG, plus dead animal tissue, aborted fetus tissue, mutated human and animal viruses, bacteria, antibiotics and animal, bacterial and viral DNA, is not particularly a good idea.
I am not uniformed, and all of my information did not come from anti-vax sources. I researched both sides with an open mind. My personal research led me to choose not to vaccinate.
After researching not only the vaccinations, but the diseases themselves, I believe the chance of dying or getting a serious side effect from the actual disease is much less than the chance of dying or getting an adverse reaction from the vaccine.
And there are just as many, if not more, scare tactics, lies and half-truths shoveled out by pediatricians and Pharma. Parents being bullied into vaccinations instead of helping them research and make their own decision, that is horrible and happens quite often!

I have never believed that there was a link to autism with the MMR. I believe that the children who are autistic would have become that way anyway, whether they had the jab or not.

I agree, it's true.
Don't know why parents continue to believe the hype and are truly uneducated about it.
I always ask - when is the last time you met someone with polio? For me, it was in 1979 when I was at university. It was shocking, frankly.
