2000 Ford Taurus - How do you replace the wiper blades?

I have replacement blades with installation instructions, but it's not obvious to me how to remove the old blades. Is there a release button somewhere?

Fold the wipers up, away from the windshield. At the end of the arm, the wiper arm hooks into a "J" shape that holds the blade on. There shoudl be a squeeze tab that will release the old blade. Look at the new one for the retaiing tab to get an idea of where to look

Hey Devin, I'd advise against choosing this car. They're notorious for their bad transmissions. The V-6, 3.0l motors seem to hold up well, though, usually outliving their transmissions. The high demand for these transmissions has made the cost of rebuld/replacement upwards of $2500 here on the West Coast. I personally had to dispose of an earlier model by donation to charity. Look for a Toyota, Nissan, Honda or Saturn if you want a more dependable, higher mileage car.

there is a release "lever" you push and then slide the blade off of the hook.

Best idea, bring it to autozone or where you bought them. They will be glad to show you how in person.
