Please read UK residents!?

There's this thing on the news about tha archbishop of Canterbury sayinf sharia law is unavoidable in the UK : http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7232661.stm

I do not want to live in a sharia Country!

I'm not racist, far from it but I feel if the muslims cant adapt to the way things are done here, they should go home! we would not be allowed to impose ourselves on the way they do things in their Country. Does anyone else agree/am I taking this a bit too personally?

Oh God, here we go again. Do you lot not recognise media frenzy when you see it. The archbishop is talking about some aspects only, not the whole thing. Apparently many of the other religions in this country have some laws which are honoured so why shouldn't the muslims? Oh yes, that would be because they are muslims and they are all intent on blowing us out of our beds or is that just that media frenzy thing again!!

I refuse to live under Sharia Law! I am not subject ( And NEVER will be) to the law of a religion that I do not believe in and neither is anyone else for that matter!!I certainly do not want to see this country subverted. The English law system has been modelled by the rest of the world...so we do not need another one thank you very much!

The Archbishop of Canterbury is completely away with the fairies. of course Sharia law is avoidable, and of course people who don't like our way should go home. the idea that we should have Sharia law in the UK is preposterous. anyone who comes to live in the UK should be prepared to abide by the laws of the land.

The law AND customs of the land should apply to everyone equally. Peoples' beliefs and private customs should be just that - private - and should not contravene the law of the land or interfere with other people's freedoms.

Sharia law is a foreign uncompromising law, an abomination and totally alien to our way of life. In no way should it or any other alien way of life be allowed to compromise our freedom of belief and customs.

This does not just apply to Islam but to any faith which seeks to ENFORCE its will on people like so many Middle Eastern countries which practise one law for the rich, powerful and hypocritical - a laxity towards alcohol and other privileges - and another strict uncompromising law for the poor.

I totally agree with what you are saying. The Muslims have chosen to live in a Christian, then they should live by our laws & we should not have Sharia Law introduced as it will cause bigger differances.

If we was to go to a Muslim country we would have to live by their rules.

No you are not taking it to personaly, and I suspect that there is lots of people who agree with you.

I'm so glad I moved to Greece!!

I have to live according to the laws of the land in Greece and I have no problem with it, so too should Muslims who wish to live in the UK live by the laws of the land there. Brits have to abide by the rules in Muslim countries don't they, so what's the difference in the UK?!

I agree. I did not hear what the Archbishop said, but this would be tragic. However, it is prophesied in the Bible that in the end times there will be wars, rumour of warsm persecution of Christians ....... I pray that when they come to persecute me that I will hold on to my faith!

I completely agree with you, I have no problem with immigrants in our country if they work and abide by our rules. But don't come over here expecting us to change for you because that is what incites the racism.
