Further processing of Target Credit Card after pre-approval?
I received a pre-approval slip from Target, and I applied for the credit card. After submitting my application, the slip said "requires further processing", and that they will contact me within 10 days. I just called the phone number for Credit Services to see if I could check the status of the processing, and all they told me was that I would receive a mailed response.
I was under the impression that if you applied from a pro-approval slip, you were guaranteed either a Target Visa card, or a Target Credit Card, as long as you could prove who you are, and could enter into a valid contract. Why the mystery, then?
The pre-approval slip states, "You'll get an account if you can legally enter into a contract and we can verify your identity when you apply."
All of you are meaning "pre-qualified". That is different than pre-approved.

Don't let the name "Union Workers Credit Services" fool you; "Although we service members of unions, we are neither affiliated nor sponsored by any union." The card is not a Visa or MasterCard, so you won't be able to consolidate your other cards. The $10,000 credit limit is only good for their website or catalog products. While they do offer a $37 rebate, they make you pay a membership fee of $95. If you were sent a pre-approval letter it should have the union affiliation on it. If you're not part of a union, they probably just gave you a random one. By all accounts, I've heard nothing but negative things from Ripoff Reports and other websites. If it were me, I'd throw it away.

The soft pull shows only your credit score. You have a score that falls into their guidelines. However, when they did the hard inquiry, you have something on your credit report that doesn't fall into their guidelines. It could be collections, judgements, bankruptcy, or even a short credit history (2yrs or less). They will mail you why it wasn't approved

no it doesn't if you read the small print it will say to the affect, that you met certain requirments and upon futher review then you will eighter be accpet or decline and if you are having to wait you have been decline and that they have to it by mail not over the phone nor can they tell you over the phone. But once you get your decline letter you have 30 days to respone back and get a detail credit history report for free.

you were turned down-they do a soft pull credit check to see if you qualify for the preapproval.once you submitted your app.,they did a hard pull which will come up as an inquiry and everything credit wise shows up over the last many years.
