According to many legal scholars, she can't, due to the Twelfth and Twenty-Second Amendments.

You know I thought of that but she wouldn't be able to, the reason is because if something was to happen to Hillary Bill would become president and he can't be president again. I think Hillary should win and pic. Obama as V.P. I love Obama but he doesn't have the experience and connections that Hillary does to be president but he has good ideas so he should be V.P

Granted there is concern that Billary would attempt to circumvent the 22nd ammendment. Basically a President may not serve again if he was "Elected" twice. Billary was. Furthermore, no President can serve more than 10 years, example.. Bill was VP and Gore died ( excuse me just drifted into a fantasy ) 1 year into his 1st term, Billary would ONLY be allowed to serve one full term of his own (10 years would be exceeded) When JFK was killed, he was into his 3rd year so LBJ was able to finish off the 1960 term, run again in his own right in 1964 and 1968 even though he opted not to seek re-election in 1968. Lots of crazy Clintonites spreading wacky stuff so here is the full text of the 22nd ammendment FYI. Of course I could actually see Billary claim he was not "Elected" in 1992 since he was the winner of a 3 way race with only 43% of the popular vote. I guess it all depends on what the meaning of "is" "is"!! All I know is we need to keep them out of OUR house or their will be more DNA samples in the White House than a Crime Scene from Miami CSI

    The 22nd Amendment

Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

Section. 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several States within seven years from the date of its submission to the States by the Congress.

Ratification was completed on February 27, 1951.

The 22nd Amendment to the Constitution states “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice" (which Bill already has been), and the 12th Amendment states “...no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”

Therefore, Hillary could not have Bill as her Vice President.

I would love Bill back in office, but no she cannot do that, it would be a huge conflict of interest and he already has said he would not be part of her cabinet, so much less would he consider being VP. I am pretty sure she is not even considering it.

Oh and for the above comment about her being too aggressive and ambitious, do you mean for a woman? I bet if she was a man, you would have no problem with it!

Hillary the woman who can reach out accross the aisle to get things done will be the Dem nominee. Having Bill as VP is unconstitutional.

She replaced her campaign manager after she lost three states to Obama. Just like after super Tuesday when she got scared that she was gonna lose and loaned her campaign 5 million dollars. Why is she so desperate? Just by her actions I'm starting to dislike her more and more.

Sure. She should pick him as VP for her new "Socialist States of America" (consisting of the New England states and California split off from the Union).

  • 1 decade ago

Can't happen fortunately. 12th Amendment prohibits it.

... But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice President of the United States.

Bill who? Thank God she can't pick that sorry husband of her's. Bill Richardson might not be a bad choice better than her anyway.

Bill is ineligible for the VP spot by the constitution.

The constitution not only limits presidential terms, but it also says that if a person is ineligibly for the Presidency (IE, already served two terms) he/she is ineligible for the Vice-Presidency.
