As Politely As I Can Ask This -- Democrats , Why Aren't You Guys Screaming 'War-Monger' About Putin ?

The term 'war-monger' is rarely, if ever, used by a republican .

It's quite well-known that dems think President Bush and Dick Cheney are war-mongerers . I disagree with such a notion, but hey, we have free speech and we're allowed to say what we want .

But Putin of Russia has just committed another provocative act of war by having his bombers come within only 2000 ft of our aircraft carrier, the Nimitz . Mistake? nahhhh . They did it, and then right away did it again . Twice . We could have legitimately shot-down those bombers, but the so-called war-mongerer President bush did not .

This is not the first recent incident either . Nope . The Russians have invaded our airspace many times recently . Something us somewhat older folks remember well from the cold war days, especially in the 70's .

We are not the only country that Putin has violated recently either . Nope . They've also invaded Japanese airspace several times recently, ..... . .. . (Continued below)

Update:

. . .. Culminating with the Japanese sending up 15 fighters to thwart the Russian threat .

Now I'd like to know why democrats don't scream about Putin being a clear war-mongerer, but find no problem calling Bush or Cheney the same ?

Am I confused or are democrats selective in their views ?

Update 2:

Lilliput - I'd appreciate that you answer the question. And capitalization in a titled question is just my forte .

Update 3:

Should we also expect to see dems congratulating President Bush for showing extreme restraint when he could've legitimately shot-down those planes ?

well, nobody's "screaming" about anything, but among the liberals i know (who are mostly hard-core lefties, like me), there's a pretty big consensus that Putin IS a war-monger.

we would love to see a President in office who will make every attempt at diplomacy with Putin. if and when it is shown that he is an aggressor, there will be global support for any effort we make... so long as there's a Democrat in the White House. the world will never trust another US conservative.

The republicans support funding the military, while democrats sometimes cut it. In Viet Nam we only pulled our troops out, Nixon left the South Viets with our air support. The democrats voted to cut the funding and the air support had to be dropped and then we officially lost the war. Also republicans believe having the biggest bomb is a deterrent, or at least we did in the Nixon days. Remember Bush got us into Iraq and Afghanistan. I think republicans currently have some explaining to do. I agreed with our original attack of Afghanistan after 911, but after the leveled all the terror strong holds we should have pulled out for good. In fact I thought we had. Wrong.

We're not screaming about the war-monger, because, despite his human-rights violations, and slightly aggressive behavior, he has somewhat stabilized that government, has a firm grasp on the Nuclear weapons, and that's reassuring to all free nations.

The Russian Bear is always scary, but when a trainer takes a firm hand, we can all breathe a little easier !

First, I would like for you to provide a link to clarify the assertion regarding Putin's use of bombers coming with the 2000 ft as you claim....I'm sure you have a valid link that can show this has really happened.

Second...why should we worry about Putin and Russia - didn't Ronny boy win the cold war and end communism in Russia?? isn't that the glory attributed to Reagan - communism is history and we won the cold war and Russia is not to be worried about??

Does anyone remember that during the time that Reagan was fighting the 'cold war' with Russia that we were providing arms to Osama Bin Laden and the Mujahdeen(Freedom Fighters is what Reagan referred to them as) to fight the Russians???? Should we be worried that Russia has sat back for the last 20 years and rebuilt it's arsenal and now plans to take advantage of the fact that USA is now fighting a similar battle in Iraq? Just a few thoughts to ponder now isn't it?

MY GOD...can't they come up with anything but insults to your education and integrity? What childish behavior! Instead of researching the facts and giving a legitimate answer based on them, they come in droves to call you stupid and answer with "he isn't our president...."

PLEASE correct me if I am wrong, but when has our President actually ever dropped bombs on our own aircraft carriers? It is OTHER leaders of OTHER countries which have declared war on the US in the past? Even Obama isn't stupid enough to drop bombs on our service men.

Some people have absolutely no business in politics. THANK GOD our leaders (both Dem & Repub) are above spending their spare time on a question and answer forum like this one. I think that even the liberal representation in DC is smart enough to underastand and aware of all imminent actual threats to the USA.

Source(s): MY ANSWER: because they are so focused on hating Bush. The one track mind is a terrible thing to waste, and apparently the majority is guilty of just that.....

I'd call Putin an undpredicatable fascist....

    Maybe a 'war-monger-in-waiting.'

Funny.....he's one of Bush's buddies, no?

A kindred spirit against terrorism and for the spread of freedom. Like Musharraf, the Saudis, etc?

So, you were saying, who needs to be more vocal about Putin's behaviour?

People in this country don't care about presidents of other countries.

Also, Bush was the one who said Putin had a soul. He said he saw it when he looked into his eyes. What can I say? those are birds of a feather who flock together after looking adoringly into each other's eyes, how romantic!

I guess they believe he hasn't started a war yet. I could be wrong. Russia is also not engaged in a war either again I could be wrong. But you never know with the jets flying over the aircrafts.

I wonder why Bush didn't tell them to fire, I suggest the next time it happens you advise him what to do.

They call anyone that isn't a tree hugger a warmonger. They'd rather give up and let terrorists take over than fight. They are the closest to the French that America has seen in a long time.

Really, even I don't care about Putin being a war monger. We have no control over him (we can't vote him out, for example), so why bother?

Of course, a lot of libbies think that he's a great guy who wouldn't hurt a fly whereas President Bush is out to get all of us. You know how delusional they are. None of this, no matter how true it is or your sources, is going to make a bit of difference.
