Printer software won't install?

I have reinstalled XP PRO and now I cant istall the printer software. I get the following message after the installation attempt. "the RPC server unavailable".

    contact your printer seller and ask him for a second cd.

    Go through Control Panel, Printers and faxes, right click your printer name (if it is there), click delete, then follow the same process to Add printer, follow the wizard, use your CD only if asked for it, XP may have the driver for it, unless the printer is a very new one.
