SHE SHOULD BE IN THE HOUSE... goldens, in particular are NOT outside dogs... keeping your dog outside 24/7 in the rain and cold is going to come back and haunt you,,,,

ARTHRITIS is most definite,,

please rethink and make her part of your family... i just wonder how you feel when you look outside in the rain,.. and she is laying there waiting for you!! soooo sad...

i never understood why people want a dog to tie up outside... makes no sense to me.

Cause she wants to live in the house where it's warm and dry. She is protesting. I think if you love her and you care about her, you would give in and make her part of your family.

I see people on tv all the time who leave their dog out in the rain and snow in a dog house and they lose their dog and they get charged. You might want to think about that while you are sitting in the warm house, looking out the window at your dog while she is freezing to death.

It is true most dogs do like to be outside than inside I no mine do but I live in Australia so of course it doesnt snow. But i have good shelter and 2 big plastic beds with sheets in them and two warm kennels so when it rains the shelter protects them from getting wet. ItS like when its 40 degrees I have my dogs in most of the day but then they want to be outside even when its so hot but the shade does keep them cool and they feel the air-conditioner. But that doesnt really help I'm so bad at advice .

Dogs ain't exactly rocket scientists, but they do know how to find comfortable spots to sleep. Goldens should be kept in the house - NO DOG should be kept outside in the cold. Ever. Period.

If she's a Nordic Spitz, she probably just likes the cold. My Siberian Husky would much rather be out in rain and snow than inside. Just make sure she's not outside too long- dogs crave human contact.

Whoops, didn't see that it's a Golden. Some dogs just like being cold and wet though- Retrievers love water.

Probably because she can't stand the smell.

Golden Retrievers have a heavy odor when wet, especially when they haven't been bathed in a while. So, she gets wet, stinks and can't stand being in a doghouse that encloses the stench around her.

I have hunting dogs and German Shepherds as well. ALL are outside with kennels and houses. They are animals folks. They were born outside and so they live outside. Most of my shepherds prefer to sleep in a ball in the snow as like huskies. They all have houses with straw so please this is normal and not inhumane.

I have no idea but to the lady who says they should be indoors.If thats the case why does the dog prefer the rain and snow to a warm kennell?

It's more natural feeling for her to be outside. She feels stuffy in side the dog house.

This is normal for dogs, they will come in when it's more comfortable for them.

Make sure the dog house is big enough for a dog her size.

a dog that is an outdoor dog once it has its coat it is incredibly versitile to the weather

please make sure your dog gets pleanty of dry straw for extra warmth though

the dog will go in if it wants to.

but i would go out and check for any signs of snakes or rodents of any kind

because I wouldn't sleep in there either
