Trouble hooking up a DVD player?

I'm having trouble hooking up my DVD player. I have a RF Modulator and an Audio/Video Modulator for my PS2. I hooked my DVD player up like my previous VCR was hooked up and it came on fine and played the DVD fine. But my problem is that the DVD player has the capability of recording from my TV. I tried to set it up but it only took like 6 of the channels I have and they are all snowy when you watch them through the DVD player. My question is how do I set the DVD player up so I can record from the TV and still keep my PS2 hooked up and still be able to watch DVD's?

BTW I have basic cable, no cable box and my TV is a Sanyo and the DVD player is a Sony.

Cable feed to ANT IN on rear of DVD recorder.

TV OUT from DVD recorder to ANT IN on rear of RF modulator.

TV OUT from RF modulator to ANT IN on television.

The DVD recorder's tuner will need to be configured properly to receive broadcasts from cable. For instance, if the recorder is set to receive programming from terrestrial broadcasting (AIR) instead of cable (CATV), then it will not receive all analogue cable channels.

Consult the DVD recorder's manual for more details.
