Did I React Badly?
My school has this program every Valentine's Day where you can pay one or two bucks to send a candygram (a piece of candy addressed to whoever) to yourself or a friend. Well, my best guy friend sent me two. He's told me he's liked me several times and I've told him that I don't like him that way, that I think of him as a friend. I love him like a brother and sometimes wonder whether I do like him, because we do have very good chemistry, but even then, I don't want to ruin our friendship over a stupid relationship since they can't go anywhere and my parents aren't for the dating game until I'm out of high school. ANYWAY, when I looked at who sent them to me, I just sorta groaned his name because I don't know why he likes me and I just don't want him wasting his time over me. Afterwards, when the bell rang, I told him thank you, but we were walking in this crowd and I was behind him. He didn't acknowledge me at all. Is he mad? Did I react badly? Was I rude...?

It was rude to groan - he probably heard you, and so did other people. That's like a public declaration of "ugh, there's nothing worse than receiving a gift from HIM!" It would have been really embarassing for him, and your weak thank-you afterwards would have seemed really insincere.
So you should apologize if you embarassed him, and reiterate that you appreciate his kind gesture, but remind him firmly that you do NOT have romantic feelings for him - he is important to you, but only in a platonic way.

Yes, you were rude.
There's no reason to groan out someones name, at all.
You could simply explain to him the det.s as to why you couldn't date him.
You might hurt him a little bit, but in most cases, that would be better than embarrassment.

Did it ever occur to you to ask him why? There must be something he see in you as to why he likes you. And as for "wasting time", to him it might not be such a waste! To your guy friend, you may be worth the wait! Stop being so hard on yourself and take the compliment as a good sign and allow yourself to be wowed! It can't hurt.

chances are if you were walking in a busy hallway he most probably didnt even hear you
i dont think that u reacted badly, if youve already turned him down poiltly then theres nothing much more you can do, however to save arkwardness i think that you should thank him again somewhere he might actually be able to hear you

Yes you were rude, you owe him an apology and an explanation. Have you told him your parents won't let you date and that you like him, but you like him so much that you don't want to ruin the friendship?......Maybe you should tell him that.

you should still be appreciative of his efforts to make you happy. put yourself in his shoes. say it was you who liked him, but he didn't feel the same.. and you decided to send him some candygrams and you heard him grunt and whine (or wtvr) when he read it was from you... wouldn't your feelings be hurt? Wouldn't that make you feel unappreciated? Some friend....
