Moving to Birmingham, England?
Hi all. There's a strong possibility my boyfriend and I may need to move to Birmingham. we have always wanted to live in the countryside, any ideas which areas we should be looking at?
We're moving due to work commitments. It's not my first choice but have heard a lot of good things about it. The move is out of my hands but where we go isn't!

Birmingham is one of England's least pleasant large cities in my opinion. Before moving there, go and have a good look around and decide for yourself

Try Worcester, its 1/2 hour from Birmingham on M5. On your days off/weekends ect you'll have all the countryside you want.

I don't understand why your moving to Birmingham if you've always wanted to live in the country.
There is countryside surrounding brum, in areas like: Earlswood, Sutton Coldfield, Nuneaton, Lapworth, Wythall, Bournville, Alvechurch and Cannock
They are all great places to live and so is brum its self but only if you like city life!
Hope you get on all right and all goes well :)

You need to be well outside brum for countryside!! Look at Sutton Coldfield, Redditch, Alvechurch, Barnt Green, Walsall, Great Barr - outskirting areas.

Birmingham is not anything like the countryside, it's a huge city, and it's further from the sea than any other city in the UK.

I'm afraid there is not a lot of countryside in Brum. Where there is, the price of a house will be astronomical.

Live anywhere else other than Birmingham if you have the choice. I'm getting out very soon.
