How come women don't date nice guys?

Being a Christian, I'm obligated to be fully loving of a (potential wife and everyone for that matter. I'd never show any anger towards a girl for no real reason (unless after marriage I got cheated on or something of that nature.) So I'm one of those "nice" guys, and I'm decently smart. However I do lack lots of confidence, because getting rejected by a girl in a huge crowd is probably my #1 fear in life... I don't fear dying, but I fear that. Heck I had just been to Richmond alone for the first time in my life, or anywhere near that size at all by myself for that matter (kinda got thrust into college right after being home schooled all my life). And even this does not even compare to the above fear. And I think I can speak for most other people like me in that this is why women never get the nice guys. Plus I'm willing to admit I'm probably pretty boring. And this is probably also another turn off. I'm just an average technical geek who likes to play video games and design stuff anywhere from legos to custom made levels/modifications for video games. So what if I can get a 3.9 GPA in Mechanical Engineering, I can't even ask a girl out. I could tell you how to use integration to solve for the volume of a fairly complex three dimensional graphed object using triple integration, but I would not be able to tell you anything about the art of dating whatsoever. I'd be willing to give away my genius any day to have a girlfriend.... Being 20 and nearing 21 without a single one is enough to drive me crazy.

Nice women do date nice guys, although they can be rather hard to find. No one ever "dumped" you because you were "too nice". They may have SAID they did, but it wasn't the truth. It sounds as though you went out with these women once. One date does not make any kind of relationship. All they knew about you was that they didn't want to go out with you again and they thought they had to give you a reason. They really didn't. If you go out with someone once, you get to know a little bit about them, and based on that you decide whether you want to know any more. You just have not found the right woman for you. Keep on looking. It's nice that you are 'very good looking' but that's only enough to get you noticed. Being a nice guy is a great second step. You say you "know most women go for the bad boy type of thing". That is so not true. You must be looking at the wrong women. Try being an interesting conversationalist (well, maybe you already have--how would I know?) Just remember that almost everyone loves an attentive audience once they start talking about a favorite topic. Good luck!

There's nothing wrong with being nice. Are you sure that's why the girls chose to end the relationships? Perhaps it wasn't that they wanted Mr. Rude and Crude, it may have just been a nice way of saying something else. Now, before you get all defensive, this is just a theory being that I have no idea what type of person you are. It's possible that you could have been a little persistent or doting. Sometimes, helping someone else can be seen as babying them.

Whatever the case is, don't worry about this. There's no need to turn into bad boy. You say you're handsome and sweet. You'll find the "Right One" soon enough.

Another reason, possibly used in conjunction with the first is that jerks are usually confident, and appear self-relliant which is attractive to many. Usually very successful peole have let it go to their head and are no longer humble because of it, but success is attractive. You deep down don't want someone who wants that type of person, there are women out there that settle on a nice guy. You'll find yours.

Chivalry is dead, thus treating women as women like in the old days is dead. Women don't want to feel like they have to have someone do things for them, it takes away from their independence.

Now back in the days of yore, men used to make phone calls, send flowers and leave sweet loving clues to let a woman how warm and fuzzy they feel about a girl. Of course this is now what is known as stalking.

This doesn't mean nice guys are not desired. A woman still doesn't need to be beaten to death or screamed at every time she leaves a dish in the sink for an hour. Us nice guys have been too easy. A woman is like Scooby-Doo, still longing for a mystery. Lets face it, if a woman is too easy, we would call them a zlut, would you still want them?

So when you are in conversation, without taking total attention away, be a little pre-occupied with studies or thinking about life. Don't give yourself away, just let her pick at you. Make her wait for flowers and candy, don't go out that often, and don't let her know everything at first. Things might just be a little different the next time.

And if you want to skip all the BS, then just take a trip to Asia where they are fascinated with nice guys. In just a year you can have a woman who will be good to you without having to crack a whip on her. In the USA nice guys outnumber the bad boys, in Asia its the other way around. Let the USA girls have thier abusive bad boyz, while you stay your nice self. Its all about being yourself right?

Women prefer dumber, dumbed down $12 an hour men, because their instinct is to hook themselves up with someone with muscles like Arnold Schwarzenegger, because it's instinct to find someone strong to protect your family...the reality of it is Arnold has had 4 major heart surgeries, because of his smoking...

The ironic thing is all of the geeks out there who don't have dates earn double and often triple what the muscle masters do and live high on the rock in the end. It's ashame that most American women don't know this and don't care to try out a male that might actually make a better, smarter, healthier family...but then again, people are stupid...

Don't try to be someone you're not because if you get in a relationship with somebody by faking it, long-term, that's going to be too tiring to keep up and you'll both be disappointed. You just need to meet the right kind of woman who's looking for a guy like you. I'm not suggesting there's anything wrong with you, but it might not be a bad idea to get counselling; see a psychologist and have a chat or three about what kind of women you approach and why and what happens when it goes wrong, and see if they can help you find a pattern that you could break to make your next relationship more successful. There are women out there who like nice guys; my husband is an absolute sweetie and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Don't even worry about girls like that. They aren't worth your time. Trust me. You'll find the right girl for you before long. Maybe some girls think that "nice guys" = "boring guys" I don't really know. I cant give you a concrete answer because that's not my way of thinking. Sorry if I wasn't much help
