I prefer Obama over Hillary because of his position on Iraq. Out in 16 months. No quibbling. We need a mechanism to tell Iraq they have to grow up sometime. Open-ended commitments don't work because the US-Iraq war machine can always invent another reason to stay.

My hangup with Obama being elected is that he might be shot. Perish the thought, but I don't overestimate the good intentions of America. There are still a lot of racists out there.

I would want to know who his VP is before I vote for him.

-That leaves Hillary. Close enough to Obama and she can rely on Bill for advice.

Frankly the thought of John McCain being the next president makes me heave.

I agree with Alex Stein in the Guardian ( see below)

the whole thing has become a monumental beauty contest rather than one based on political policies.

The fact is, as a British citizen, I dont have a right to vote, but like it or lump it, what goes on in the US has a direct impact on me here in my little cottage in the UK. Take George Bush for example, starting the war in Iraq (what ever the rights and wrongs of that may be in your opinion) backed by a sycophant wuss of a Prime Minister in Tony Blair (and now the unelected Gordon Brown) has led to great financial implications in my son's and my own health, education and income. The Billions of pounds spent financing some glorified oil hunt (sorry, search for Democracy in the Middle East) not spent on social services, schooling, disability and special needs support, have cost me dear, that's six years of my son's life he'll never get back. During this time he's grown up into a disabled young man because the funding simply hasnt been there to help him when he needed it most.

When it comes to candidates, as a humanist, I have to back Barak Obama. America is almost primeval in its attitudes to minorities, and the collective shame and guilt they should feel towards their treatment of black people until very recent times (and indeed in some parts still do) is criminal and can only really be assuaged with a black president. Perhaps Barak Obama can finish what Lincoln started some 150 years ago.

America is a flawed gem in the eyes of the world, on the geopolitical stage only Barak Obama can regain America's credibility and perhaps put an end to the "third Crusades".

It doesn't really matter what his politics are, its who he is that matters and what it means to the rest of the world. Perhaps its time for America to grow up at last?

no change in any of them for the positive, just more bleeding of our country's treasury and jobs.

However, of the three I would take either Obama or Clinton over McCain. Since I'm not in the Dem primary, I don't need to dissect which of the two Dems is fractionally less syncophantist over supposed American job protection than the other. Only one will be left in November.

Obama, Clinton is losing it! She tried to make him look bad and it back fired! He won Wisconsin. Hillary is making herself look bad. And I will say this for the record: McCAIN MAY BE DOING WELL RIGHT NOW AND HE IS GONNA BE THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE BUT HE IS NOT GONNA WIN THE PRESIDENCY....THE DEMS ARE RUNNING THE HOUSE AND THE SENATE RIGHT NOW, AND THAT IS GONNA PLAY A BIG ROLE IN THIS ELECTION. MOST AMERICANS WANT THIS WAR TO END ANYWAY, AND WE DO NOT WANT ANOTHER GEORGE BUSH IN THE WHITE HOUSE AGAIN!

The way Hillary's campaign strategists and advisers are making her lost by advises that "we are weak here, we are weak there, we are weak everywhere" without even lifting a finger to fight state after state, going to McCain camp is the best. Her campaign staff seems to make sure that she losses in all states remaining! Disgusting morons!

You can't cede America to a Dem candidate with questionable companies and background not to mention his inexperience and incompetence.

I did like Edwards but now I prefer Hillary over Obama, although if Obama turns out to be the nominee (and by the looks of things, he will be), I will vote for him. The only Republican nom. I like is Ron Paul.

Obama... his name has become a great household legend these days. Go Obama go... the only candidate who has not sold out America for a kiss of the foreign butt!
