Yes it can. It has some other nasty side effects like weight gain. When my husband was on it he had terrible cravings for all things carbs such as bread, ice cream, potatoes, you name it. His doctor changed him to Geodon. So far, so good.

Yes, it can cause all those things.

    Check a few things.

Don't use it any more often than prescribed. Over use causes a rebound effect, and apart from the symptoms you've got it might stop working altogether for the problem.

Always wash out your mouth with water after use.

It can cause problems for the teeth and gums if you dont.

Most medicines have some side effects. If you find it unbearable, go back to you doctor and ask for an alternative medicine.

Google the name Risperodal, and it will give you an option to go to the official site that is the exact info. on side-effects, etc. that comes on the tiny printed leaflets in the box with the product itself. It will show clinical trials and the percentages of particular side effects.

    Also, phone your pharmacist.

My own Dr. always says that the pharmacist has the most knowledge, plus that all-important record of your other meds. He can check for possible interaction-caused side-effects.

    Take care now.

It increases your blood sugar, so don't take it if you have pre-diabetes or diabetes.
