A doctor isn't going to examine the inside of your uterus to see if there is scar tissue - that is never done.
What they might be able to detect are changes in your cervix. Women who have given birth or otherwise had their cervix somewhat dilated to perform an abortion procedure will have a cervix that has the opening look more like a slit than a dimple as it is in women who have not had a child or an abortion.
Otherwise, no, there is no way to tell through an exam.
But it's always important to be honest with your doctor about your history so they can best take care of you and know all the risk factors you might face. Your medical records are always 100% confidential, no parent, boyfriend, or husband could ever find out unless you gave permission for that information to be disclosed. So don't lie about it. If you're mature enough to get pregnant and have an abortion, then be mature enough to be honest about your history from this point forward for the sake of your own health and well being.
Good luck.

A doctor can always tell if you've been pregnant or not. But not telling a doctor the truth about your medical history is never a good thing. There could very well be signs of a person having an abortion. Do you know what is done in a procedure like that. That's something close to surgery.

A doctor can tell if your cervix has ever been dilated because it changes the shape of the opening. They can't tell if it was for an abortion or for a different reason, however.
A safe abortion done properly does not leave scar tissue in the uterus, or anywhere else for that matter.

There shouldn't be any signs after the abortion that you had one, so no, no one will be able to tell. You should tell your health care providers though. You'd be surprised at how many people have had an abortion when we ask them at the clinic! None of us care.

you have to tell them of all pregnancy's.If you ever conceive a child again. Since an abortion is a pregnancy destroyed, therefore yes.You may feel uncomfortable about it, but its your choice. But as for a history no I dont think a doctor can find out, unless there was compliocations.

Frankly, Joseph's post was poorly informed, and I wouldn't trust him.
Scar tissue is usually created in the uterus by the abortion process. It's not really avoidable, but it's pretty hard to find unless you're looking for it, and only hospitals have the tools necessary. If you have problems or find yourself ill ANYTIME after having an abortion, tell the doctor when you see him, because it may be medically relevant.

you should always tell your doctor the truth about medical history that way they can give you the best treatment. Besides, they are not there to judge, just to help.

There is scarring on your female organs usually that will tip off any ob/gyn of a past abortion.
