What is the missionaries position on invasive christianity in under-developed countries?
Shouldn't native peoples be able to take matters into their own hands rather than be under religious fundamentalists?

It's a lot like this:

And why, yes, your presumption is correct, but it is the missionaries bringing the invasive Christianity in. The Christian seamen often travel to under-developed countries and plant their seed. As a kid I wanted to be a missionary until I found out it involved religion. The priest kept trying to convince me it was a wonderful position to take but that only boys should get involved. My poor athesist heart was broken. Proselytizing to the poor certainly hasn't served them well. They're popping up everywhere, like rabbits!
I think the natives should stick with the DOGgy position. Taking matters into their own hands keeps them blind and makes their palms hairier. It is a hard-knock life so their knocks should at least be worthwhile.
Source(s): EDIT: Hi Craig! Oh, it's the terms like "missionary position" and "taking matters into their own hands". Those are called double entendres as they have more than one meaning - and one of those meanings is usually Freudian. o hai thippy! wanna get married? - Anonymous5 years ago
Carefully consider any answer concerning that. The Gospel of Christ is a Gospel of good news. An emphasis on the bad has the power to push the good completely out of the arena. Someone who would do that is not presenting the good news. The condition of those members of your family who have passed on is in the hands of God. My own father passed away several months ago. His spiritual life was nothing to brag about, but I feel that one day I will be able to contend for the soul of my father. Abraham, after all, was able to influence God concerning the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. The outcome, as I understand it, was unpleasant, but Abraham tried (and was at least minimally successful).

Missionaries don't consider the beliefs of the people they're proselytizing to, cuz if they did, they wouldn't proselytize. The whole point is to lead them from their religion to Christianity, and sometimes they do these things in awful ways. I saw a video recently about a town in Africa where the missionaries have convinced the townspeople that certain children are evil and posessed, which leads these people to beating, murdering or abandoning their own children. I'll see if I can find the video again and post it for you...

Back when I was young and quick I could grasp a double entendre like a stick, wiggle and waggle and wave it round till I never knew if my position was up or down.
There was the joke about the heathen asking what would have happened to his soul if the Xian hadn't come along.
Xian: You'd have gone to heaven cos you knew no better.
Heathen: So why didn't you leave me alone; I was better off not knowing.
And
Reporter: Mr Gandhi, what do you think of western civilization?
Gandhi: It would be a wonderful idea, wouldn't it?

This question gave me a tingle. Just thought you should know.
Your point however is well received on my end.. lol.
Wandering into a country with good intentions to press on the indigenous people someone else's culturally specific religion is a form of genocide. You can look at the history of this effort in Australia where indigenous children were removed from their parents and taken to Missions... these "kids" are known as the stolen generation today.

That is hard for those people to take matters into their own hands when they are sick and poor. Are you that anti Christian that you would rather see children starve and die of thirst or disease than to be helped by Christians. If you don't like it then why don't you get a group together and go feed the hungry in Africa, instead of bad mouthing people who do.

Frankly, I believe that holding a missionary position can become rather strenuous without also incorporating other positions, but it's not a bad idea to stretch first anyways.
I like what the other guy said about impregnating their minds. Take some twinkies, a few cigarettes and tell them about their Lord and God, whom they've apparently been completely oblivious to for several thousands of years. At least they won't have to burn in Hell like every single one of their "demonic" ancestors.
Please... How close minded do you have to be before you consider it your duty to create a like-minded world?

Their position is to take a bunch of money that could be spent to feed and clothe them and spend it on Bibles to proselytize to them.
EDIT: What is everyone talking about? What is an entendre? I looked it up all I found was "hear (french). Is there some sort of innuendo that I'm missing as well?

Wow . . . yeah . . . innuendo.
I don't see anything wrong with helping the poverty-stricken, but how cruel is it to look at these people who are desperate enough as it is and say, "By the way, this food is from God. Believe in him, or burn in hell." If you are feeding poor people, they'll do whatever you want them to. It's manipulative.
