I was asked to work on a Bank Holiday. Am I entitled to have a different day off or get paied as extra hours?

    you are entitled to overtime pay.

    In the US, you wouldn't be entitled to either, unless the company recognized the holiday and gave everyone else the day off.

    unless your on salary - they have to pay you over time-plus if they pay holiday pay-if they give you an extra day off to compensate from working extra day then its legal as long as its within same pay period
