What are the dictators of Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuala, and North Korea so suspicious about?

Last summer, Obama said he was willing to meet without preconditions with the leaders of rogue nations - such as Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela and North Korea - during his first year in office. Clinton slammed that position as irresponsible and naive.

Responding to her criticism, Obama said he would meet with these leaders because "it is important for the next President to go above and beyond the call because there is enormous suspicion about America right now."

Suspicious in this case probably would be best translated as "wary of" or "cautious towards".

The reasons these nations are cautious of the U.S. is simple- none of them want to become part of the Western Cultural Empire. By their logic, independence from the West and retaining their culutural and ethnic identities is better than enjoying the benefits of Western culture and losing their own value system.

Well maybe they are suspicious about the U.S. dropping bombs on them for no reason and corporately stealing all their natural resources... like we've been doing for decades... duh!!!
