Dating sites are just another source of meeting people. Yes there are liars there as there are anywhere but you don't know till you meet them. If you did intend to meet someone from the site, always meet in a public place and limit your time to 1hr... you will know by then if this person is for you.

yes everyone creates the person they WANT to be online. Not who they are for real, today. Expect some things to not be true. Usually weight (for men and women)
The picture is probably their favorite picture which is 5 years old.

No, most serious singles will never lie. I'm on millionairecupid.com and I found 99% of them are real and serious.
