Pregnancy after a threatened miscarriage?
I've had a threatened miscarriage a little over a week ago. My OBGYN can't get me in until the 21st. I went to the hospital and the doctors found a heartbeat and said everything looked very good. my cervix was closed and tight and they couldn't explain the bleeding. I get cramps every other day. Every 2 days i get brown spotting that lasts for a few hours andisn't bad. No cramping while it's happening or anything. I hear brown spotting is normal. Before I went to the hospital I had had this spotting on the same schedule (every 2 days) and the doctors still said everything looked good so apparently the spotting wasn't affecting the pregnancy in anyway. But I can't help but feel scared. Has anyone been through this or has suggestions other that go to the doctor? I can't go to the dr until the 21st and my OBGYN won't take me on an emergency basis. I'm just scared and need reassurance.

I would try to find an OBGYN that could fit you in on emergency basis. You need a doctor that will be able to see you right away when you are having problems. But besides that don't stress out......stress is not good for the baby. If the doctors at the er said everything is okay then i would take there word on it. Good Luck

How far along are you? If I was you I would get a OBGYN that would see you on an emergency basis they should be there for you at all times because being pregnant can be scary and you need someone who is there for you and will see you with an hours notice I had off and on discharge and bleeding for about a week with my first pregnancy and I called the midwife and she said that it was normal and not to worry and then I started bleeding really bad one night and miscarried My second pregnancy I started bleeding and went in to see the doctor right a way and my cervix was still closed and I just stayed on bed rest about a week or so and that pregnancy went fine If the hospital said your cervix was closed then everything should be fine but I still think your obgyn should be more than happy and willing to fit you in

I am nearly ten weeks pregnant and I have been going through the same situation ever since I was five weeks. I bleed on and off and get minor cramping. Sometimes the blood is brown, and sometimes it's red. My doctor has been doing an ultrasound every week and always says things are looking fine. It is a very scary thing and you have every right to be worried, but just remember that the extra stress is not good for the baby. Sit back and try to relax. No heavy lifting, try not to have sex, every chance you get, lay down and put your feet up. My doc said 60% of women bleed during their first trimester, so we are the majority. Good luck, I hope everything works out.

My sister in law had a threatened miscarriage. she was bleeding alittle and had really bad cramps she went into the emergency room and they said everything looked o.k. also the docter just told her to be on bed rest and a couple of days later she went back and everything still looked o.k. she was on bed rest for about 2 weeks. Her baby turned out fine. If I were you I would go to the emergency room, if that isn't an option then I would stay in bed for as long as I could. Good luck

I think you will be fine.As long as your doctors tell you that you are ok then its ok.It sounds like you may still be having like a period. My mom did with my little brother for 4 months.Pretty crazy but its possible. You'll be ok and so will your baby.
