Tattoos, Tattoos, Tattoos?

I'm 16

I already have this one tattoo, on my hip,

it wasn't done in a parler, but my mate did it.

don't give me grief on that, I'm still alive and thats not why I'm here.

I'm going on holiday with my mate and her mom in august,

[I'm 17 in september]

and last time she went she got this tattoo on her ankle of a butterfly, all professionally, and her mom alowed it. [shes 16 too]

i have the chance to get another tattoo when i go away with my mate, it will be quite large and on my right side on my ribs, its my own design and will cost a fair bit as its to be full black.

but i dunno if i should go ahead with it, i have been thinking about it alot and for ages.

It will under my clothes tho, all of my future tattoos will be.

im still unsure whether i should do it tho, and i have to cross it with my mom before i can do it, but she doesnt know about my hip one.

should i get it or not??

Update:

i know ill change, but the tattoo i have at the moment is a very strong ..somewhat bold statement, and when im older.. im not going to regret it.. ill look back and laugh.

If you are unsure, then hold off on getting it; getting a large tattoo on your ribs would be very difficult to cover up or remove if you realize that you really don't want it anymore. Wait it out a bit; in the meantime, if you must get a tattoo while you're away, get a smaller one in a less painful spot. Good luck!

Do you think she'll say no because it is so large? Just wait until you are 18 and can make the decision without parental consent. I waited until I was 18 and also got a large piece done on my side on my ribs. I had planned it for awhile and used the time to tweak the design i wanted. I am 20 now and I still love it. It was worth the wait. You have to make sure it means something to you so you wont ever grow bored of it.

I say no. You sound unsure about it. Unless you are 100% sure you want this don't permamnently mark your body with it. And if its going to make your mom throw you out of the house don't do it either. It's not too long until you're 18 and you can get it done without anyones permission and by a professional. No more hiding in your mates kitchen getting drilled.

Tattoos are addictive... So be careful, what you like at 17 will not necessarily be what you like at 25. And you will keep wanting more and more. If you have never had one done professionally you should try a small one first. Then go for the big stuff later. If you don't know if you really want it, then don't get it yet...

You're only sixteen and you wil change alot in the next few years. Think long and hard about it before you do it. Maybe wait until you are 20 to give it some time. If you don't you may end up regretting it.

In my opinion under 20 is too young for a large black tattoo that will be difficult to remove and impossible to cover, that being said I think under 20 is too young to get married but it works for some people maybe it will for you.

if your unsure at all i'd say wait i wanted one when i was 18 but was kinda unsure so i waited and thought it out and finally got one when i was 21 but im glad i waited. also just think those things are way addictive at first you dotn think they are but then maybe a year later you start itching for another one etc haha

If you contemplating if you should get it or not, then I think that you shouldn't.

Tattoos are forever, unless you want to spend the tens of thousands of dollars to get one removed.

All my tattoos are ones that I knew I would want to have forever.

At the end of the day, it's your decision.

If you have any doubt in your mind, I would say don't get it. You can always wait a year or so once you're positive, but you can't take it back once you get it. So until you are 100% sure, just wait.

don't get it there. yuk. places for females to get tattoos and still be attractive: ankle..sumtimes., lower back < my favorite, and on top of your big toe, no seriously.
