if you reall have to install Norton.

'My computer' has been replaced with 'Computer'

you could find it in the start menu or on the desktop, if it's not on the desktop, open any folder, and type in the top,

    computer

or click the arrow in the address bar to get a list of some folders, or click at the top 'folder' or the folder icon to get a list of all the folders on the left side.

    Hi:

Norton Anti-virus Software is not really good software and with it there are limitation on it. See Norton will give you the software and after a certain amount of time you would have to buy it again usually about 6 month to a year. If you want some great software for free Go to http://www.download.com/ they have AVG. Once your on there site look below in you will see "most popular software" below it is the AVG Anti-Virus Free Edition. If you don't believe it work view the comment selection over 1 million people have download it and are very happy with it! Remember you have nothing to lose but a lot to gain. Don't wait to late and then have to take your computer to a shop, avoided spending unnecessary money!! Hope this info was helpful have a great DAY!!!!

A proper Norton installation CD comes with autorun, and should work. Is it a genuine one?

And anyway it's a bad choice for a protection programme. It eats memory, slows your computer down, and does not find and remove other things which get into your computer such as adware. I eventually got rid of it (having paid for a new subscription) after installing Spyware Doctor with Antivirus on my wifes computer. I could not fault this. Lesson learned.

Norton is one of three Anti-virus's that remain on your computer without being seen, go to the back of the Anti-virus pack and look up their phone no and contact them or go on line for help they will take you to a link that will take off the old Norton so you can install the new. You will not be able to do anything till you do.

You could go to Start > Run and type in the name of the cd drive. My one is the E-drive so I would type:

    E:/

otherwise, return the product to the store and get another copy if you like.. and see if that works. If not, there's something wrong with your computer.

Another option is, you can download AVG or McAfee from one of those many popular torrent sites. Those two are pretty good.
