My six year old has a fever of 100.5....?
Hi. I have a six year old daughter, Peyton. She is complaining of a sore neck, stomach ache and a headache. Should I be worried? Should I take her to the doctor on Monday? Her doctor isn't open on Fridays. Or should I take her someplace else tonight? It is 4:17 where I live. Thank you for all you help. It is highly appreiciated. I am very worried.

She is probably fine. My kids have those symptoms all the time. May be just your average stomach flu. Just give her some rest, drink fluids, and lots of love. If the fever gets higher or she gets worse, go to a walk-in clinic. Just a tip, try some vitamin C to make her feel better.
EDIT: I checked on WebMd these are all the things that have part of the symptoms.
roseola
gastroenteritis
mono
flu
thalassmeia
gas pains
muscle strain
sun burn
constipation
tick bite
typhiod fever
So, as you can see, based on these symptoms, there are a ton of things. Most likely just the flu though. So don't worry too much. Go play with your daughter and enjoy yourself a little when she goes to bed. By the way, I'm going to send you some pictures.

Hi Kate:
I have to say she sounds like my five year old daughter! She had caught a massive cold from kinder class..
I am in Texas, and I say it is 6:30 pm here and we have places like All Night Peds Clinics..
Oh my daughter had a high fever, stomache ache, headache, and sore neck, after we got her to her doctors, on Wensday, I was told it was a flu like bug!
So in my thinking yes, better safe then sorry, especialy with a light to high fever, for I had a seziure at the age of 3 with out any signs of anything!! Just had it, and they are devesating, so I take no chance..
Good Luck and God Bless,
Darianna

I'm guessing its the flu...I'd give her Tylenol or Ibuprofen and a cool bath. If the fever doesn't come down then, I'd take her to a clinic or an urgent care. Make sure she rests.( Lots of younger kids tend to exagerate the pain, but her fever is real. My oldest who's 8 does this a lot and after an hour or so of getting attention, he's fine.) I'm sure when her fever goes down, she'll be fine, but if it comes back, over the weekend, get in to see a doctor. Don't let her eat too much, incase her stomach gets upset. Stick with the dry toast, crackers, etc. And give her plenty of fluids! Good luck!

100.5 is absolutely nothing to worry about. It sounds like she has the flu. You don't need to worry until she hits about 103 or more. My dr told me that it is best to not even give pain reducers at that temp. Is this the first time one of your 7 children has been sick?????
OMG people...it is a 100 degree fever. Seriously...meninghitis??? If the fever doesn't break?? !00 degrees is how low a fever should be AFTER it breaks!!

That's a low fever, hardly high enough to even register as a fever. There is no reason for you to panic, and there is definitely no reason for you to rush her to the emergency room.

I wouldn't rush to a doctor its just a low grade fever but I would definately call one.

neck pain is a sign of meningitis, which is going around. if it was just the headache and stomach ache, i wouldn't worry. with the neck, though...
take her to the hospital now! better to be safe than sorry. tell them what's going on and they will probably bring her right in cause it's way dangerous and highly contagious. good luck!

it might be the flu or a virus. if her fever gets higher then call but I wouldn't before.

Give her some kids Motrin or Tylenol and I would give her some pepto-bismol and if you the fever is not breaking up take to the ER
