babywearing problems =(?

my youngest dd, 2mos, doesnt like to lay down, doesnt like to be worn in my bjorn, so i ordered a moby, i love it, she doesn't! what do i do? it just stresses her out...i am at the point where i need two hands to deal with my older children (aged 2 and 4) and get chores done. should i be persistant with her? she starts fussing when i put her in the wrap and i try to calm her down, but she just cries harder and harder, so i take her out. i dont know what to do!

You may want to try some different positions.

The best thing I found with all three of my children is that they usually prefered to be more vertical than horizontal for the first while.

I got them used to it very quickly by going for a walk with the carrier. By the end of the walk, all three of them loved it. I think the combination of being next to the heart, and warm and close, and the heart beat, and the swaying did it.

Have you tried different holds in the Moby? By 2 months, mine was in the hug hold. He only would do the cradle hold for the first 6 weeks or so.

Also, do you give her a binky when she's in the wrap.

Are you putting her in the wrap when she's happy, or when she's already fussing?

Try walking outside with her in the wrap. She might get distracted enough to enjoy it.

My son blew up the first time I wore him also. So I bought another carrier. He hated that also, so I bought another one. When he cried in that one too I got ANOTHER!! That was all probably a waste, because now he'll stay in all of them! I just kept stuffing him in different ones and kept moving. He likes it much better if I'm walking or doing chores ect... You might also try waiting until she is so tired she would fall asleep anywhere then put her in the sling and see if she drifts off (or cries off) quickly! there. Good luck and God Bless!!

I have the moby too... my baby didn't like the newborn hold, but did like the vertical hold (I don't remember what it is called).

Also start moving around in it... my baby would fuss at first then I'd start bouncing around and he'd settle. He loves be worn now.

    Good luck!

I have a swing I put my little one in...and if he has a full tummy, no gas and a clean diaper...I just let him cry it out.... I tell him while he is crying that I love him and I continue to talk to talk him and give him kisses as I walk by, but still cry it out...the only thing that sucks about letting him cry is I cannot think and my brain gets to be mush when he is crying loud.... But still I need to get things done...so he needs to learn to be happy in his swing for 45 min intervals.

  • You better start teaching her now she needs to be put down. Put her down, if she cries.... let her for a min. Pick her up. Then put her down again. Be very persistent...If you keep holding her every five minutes your going to regret it in the long run. And before I get trashed on: You can comfort her in many ways....but if you want some free hands...your going to have to teach her....
