70-130 is a good range. Check your sugar two hours after eating. That's your most accurate reading. It could be as much as 140 and still be safe.

If you have any type of cut, ulcerated area, you need to keep it no higher than 130, else it will take a very long time to heal.

Stay away from white foods, such as potatoes, rice, bread, and pasta. All starches turn to sugar! At least keep these at a very minimum intake.

Stick with veggies and lean meats, dairy products that don't have sugar. Be very careful with fruits which have natural sugar. Eat only small amounts of these.

If you drink juice, three times a week would likely be okay, but just a small, 4 to 6 oz glass. there is a lot of sugar in fruit juice.

Don't be fooled by juices that say, "no sugar added." Read the label on the back. Eight grams of sugar are equal to a teaspoon! Check to see what is in a glass, which they say is the "Daily amount."

depends on what your doctor or dietitian wants it to be my ranges are 70-110 fasting and less then 160 1 hour after meals. I would contact whomever is caring for you throughout this and ask them what they suggest. I have a chart that I was given when they diagnosed me with diabetes 10 years ago and not much has changed except the amounts of insulin that I give myself.

Your best bet would be to call you doctor and see what they suggest because every doctor is different and some go by age and others go by how long you have been diabetic, etc, etc. Good luck

140-180 is fine for 1-2 hours after a meal, but ideally your pre-meal range should be about 80-120.

American Diabetes Association (ADA) versus American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE)

ADA says... A1c less than 7

    Before meals 90-130

    1-2 hours after meals <180

AACE says... A1c less than 6.5

    Before meals less than 110

    1-2 hours after meals <140

This is what the specialists go by. It is a good reliable source.

it depends on the persons lifestyle really. it could range from the following

    75-100

    80-120

    85-140

    90-160

It depends on the person really, and what their doctor says would be purfect for them. But I'd say the best range would be 80-120 ^-^
