To all Trinitarians?

Since Christianity was given to man by God, and religion is man's way of reaching up to God, what does that make Christianity?

I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know.

I think John 17 clearly sums up the potential of a Christian.

Christ prays for us to be one with Him as He is one with the Father.

If that's His ultimate goal for us, it should be ours too.

I would take Christianity really as a two fold entity:

    1) Most generally, it is the belief that Christ is the Son of God, the Redeemer and Messiah. It is a faith, more than anything else.

    2) It is man's attempt at understanding God and His will for us. It is a discipline that tries to explain what God's Word means and how it is to be interpreted and incorporated into our daily lives. This aspect of the definitiion of Christianity is what causes the most difficulty for people, because it can end up being opinion rather than the inspired Word of God.

I don't fully accept your definitions. Christianity was not given to man by God. Jesus was. Christianity is simply humans trying to emulate the divine example. God wasn't like, "Here, I made this religion for you, it's pretty swell." But, I would say religion is man trying to reach up to God. And that is where Christianity differs. Followers of Christ realize that God came to us, and that WE can't reach him on our own.

No Christ was given by God as his only son He become sin on the cross for all that will believe in his name. Jesus is a bridge between man and God, When we invite Christ into our lives we die a spiritual death to live in Christ Jesus if we follow him remain in him all transgressions are no more. Christianity is learning about following Christ to live a life that is pleasing to God! Christ said I am the way, I am the truth I am the life no one goes to the Father but through me! There are not many paths to God their is but one

    God the Father

    God the son

    God the holy spirit!

that is 3-1 it is a thing you and I cannot fully understand God is very expansive, all encompassing!

It makes it a question to the Answer who is Jesus. Or it makes it the Answer to the question man is asking. Either way. Man seems to stop seeking just long enough to look doesn't he? Thus making it at the very most a "rest-stop". And the very least a "Door of Hope."

actually religion is not a way of reaching God it is by Jesus Christ. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

So with that being said can you get to heaven to the Father any other way? No unless you can't read

god gave us all kinds of means to know him, not just Christianity. religion is mans way of manipulating people, god does not require us to do as religion tell us. religion is man made, not god made. find god your self, and seek the truth about the all loving god, not the mean, punishing god portrayed in the holy books

It makes it a mutual reaching-for between God and people.

  • Christianity is man-made construct, not one of God's.
