Defender of Freedom
From Shelton, WA, but living in Nampa, ID for now. Easy-going guy who is becoming more and more a child of God. I typically hang out in the R&S section. You can lead an atheist to evidence, but you can't make 'em think. Love country music, America, and the Conservative Christian Right. If you wanna know more, just ask.
How does life come from non-life?
When/where have we witnessed this? It goes against the LAW of Biogenesis.
(I'm only asking because someone dared someone else to ask it in this section.) If you'd like to answer, go ahead. I'm outta here.
2 AnswersBiology1 decade agoFellow Christians...?
What's your favorite hymn? I love The Old Rugged Cross. It's so powerful and moving. And Amazing Grace, of course.
23 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf Israel were to be attacked on a large-scale assault...?
would God protect the Jews? No offense to the Big Guy, but He didn't exactly protect the Jews during the Holocaust.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoI AM... in need of help?
Okay, I know that "I AM" is a name of God -- God told Moses that was His name, and Jesus said that He was "I AM." I need help: what do you call the name "I AM"? What is it? I know it means that God never changes and that He will always be... but what is it? YHWH is the personal name of God... soooo... any help?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSatan... model for perseverance?
Is satan a model for perseverance or what? -- not that I rooting for him or anything. I mean, he and God obviously talk to each other (see the book of Job), he knows that he will pay for his rebellion (see Genesis 3:15), and yet, he still continues to tempt and deceive people! That's commitment, right there.
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf the world stopped spinning...?
what would happen? I'm talking about gradually, not like a car going 65 miles an hour and then someone steps on the brake. This is for a school assignment.
11 AnswersEarth Sciences & Geology1 decade agoWhy is it that Atheists automatically expect Xians to be perfect?
If we really were perfect then, why would we need Christianity, which focuses on Christ's perfection rather than our own?
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTo all Trinitarians?
Since Christianity was given to man by God, and religion is man's way of reaching up to God, what does that make Christianity?
I'm not being sarcastic, I really want to know.
14 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTo all Trinitarians: Keep the faith (again)?
Who did I help with this? (Hey, I had to have a question)
Remember: Ephesians 6:11-13 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Just something to give support to all Trinitarians reading this.
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoIf we are just highly evolved pond scum?
Then what determines right or wrong? Isn't it just relative? Isn't it different for different people and changing as societies evolve? If I can get away with something for my benefit (i.e., for my evolutionary advantage), if genes are “selfish” as I have been taught, then why not push beyond the limits? Why care about the poor people, the old, the maimed, the victims in other countries? Why not kill the old and useless, why not kill the dumb ones and also the unemployed if we have enough machines to do the labor?
If there are no absolutes (i.e., set by something outside man and not by man) then why not agree with one Australian philosopher (working at an Australian university) who proposes infanticide for excess children? How can you logically argue against this if man really does set his own rules? I know that at the moment this is against man’s rules but man’s rules change. Remember, a generation ago abortion and euthanasia were both illegal and taboo subjects
26 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is it that both my questions dealing with religion being a disease of the mind were deleted?
There were questions there!!
What seperates religion -- man's way of trying to get to God -- and Judaism and Christianity -- God's way of trying to get to us?
Notice that I typed a question!
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoAtheists: What do you think of Christians?
I'm not talking about the ones who you guys call fanatics, but the ones who are moderate. And please no saying "Holy **** there are Christians who aren't fanatical?" I just want a conversation with no bashing of Christians.
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTheistic Evolution; for those who believe God used Evolution?
How can anyone believe that God and Evolution can work together? God stopped creating; Evolution is an ongoing process.
Jacques Monod was noted for his contributions not only in his field of molecular biology, but also in philosophy. He was a close friend of the French philosopher, Albert Camus.
In an interview, he said "Selection is the blindest, and most cruel way of evolving new species, and more and more complex and refined organisms … because it is a process of elimination, of destruction. The struggle for life and elimination of the weakest is a horrible process, against which our whole modern ethics revolts. An ideal society is a non-selective society, is one where the weak is protected; which is exactly the reverse of the so-called natural law. I AM SURPRISED THAT A CHRISTIAN WOULD DEFEND THE IDEA THAT THIS IS THE PROCESS WHICH GOD MORE OR LESS SET UP IN ORDER TO HAVE EVOLUTION (emphasis added).
16 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoMormonism and the Samoans?
Why are there so many Samoans who are Mormons? I know of at least 5 people who are both Mormon and Samoan. Is it like the "national" religion or something over there?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDoes anyone here still support the war?
I support our men and women over seas, don't get me wrong; heck, I wanna join the Navy right after high school. I'm just wondering if there's anyone here who still supports the war on terror.
33 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoChristians, what do you think Heaven will be like?
Now I know that our Earthly concepts of Heaven don't even come close to the real thing, but tell me: what you think Heaven will be like and/or what you are looking forward to?
18 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoTo my fellow Trinitarians?
Do you guys ever get "homesick"? (Think about our actual home and how we are just sojourners in this world)
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is it thought that if you don't believe in Evolution, you're an idiot?
At http://www.discovery.org/scripts/viewDB/filesDB-do... there is a list of skeptics against Darwinian Evolution. Now given, some of the people there have degrees that have nothing to do with anything that could be connected to Evolution. But there are a number of people whose degrees show that they understand the theory, and yet they have the courage to defy the high priests of academia by voluntarily adding their names to a skeptics list against Darwinism.
And although this does not prove God exists, it does prove that there are educated people who don't believe in the fairy tale for grown-ups.
45 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoThe economy and the government?
Anyone know of any sites that talk about how the military effects the economy? I know some of the ways it does, but I want to get in-depth. It's for a high school essay in my Civics class.
2 AnswersMilitary1 decade agoThe Christian Belief: damned if it does and damned if it doesn't. Anyone here agree?
Unbelievers say that the idea of God came from man. So then it would be simple. But with the Trinity and the idea about how there is a 3-in-1 God isn't simple. And since it isn't simple, they --unbelievers -- don't believe because they can't grasp it. Yet if they could, then they would say that it was from man. So just wondering, what do you guys think? This is to both Christians and un-Christians alike.
