Well anything like tables just polish them with furniture polish. But couches get better faster if you can put them outside for a half a day or whole day. But if your weather is not good and you can't get them steam cleaned then all I know if Febreeze. but you will have to use it all the time for awhile because if the smoke is really bad the smell comes back every few hours just a little weaker each time. If you can afford to get them steam cleaned it is wonderful, they can get the smell out, last I checked it was $100 for a sofa, but call carpet cleaners in your area and check the prices, business isn't really good right now they might give you a good deal. Oh and about the Febreeze make sure you get the brand name it works alot better than the store generics and ends up being cheaper. Good Luck!

Well if the covering comes off of the cushions, you can wash them, and spray the rest of the furniture down with a vodka/lemon mix, you will have to spray it with a lot of solution. It will also work if the cushions don't come off. You are going to have to pretty much soak the couch down if the smell is that bad so the solution will get all the way through. I know it sounds quit silly but it works, you just can't sit on the furniture for a while, until it dries.

Check out the furniture.. Some older furniture has cushions that you can take off the foam and wash in the washing machine...

*Just use cold/cold gentle cycle and use a gentle detergent like WOOLITE and add 1 c. of baking soda it's a natural deodorizer.

Launder and hang to dry.. Put back on foam cushions slightly damp... For the frame sprinkle with baking soda and vacuum....

You can also rent a carpet steamer with furniture attachements... .That would be good if you couldn't machine wash the cushions...

    * If you break a zipper on the cushions..not to worry just do a simple whip stitch and you won't be able to tell. Break the stitch to launder another time.....

    *Febreze works or Zorbex....

    Good luck

  • Take a boiled water mix fresh lemon in the ratio of (1 bucket, 2 lemons ). and wash all the furniture gently without any detergent. after 20 minutes of washing rewash it with a fresh cold water only. You will get the better smell rather than the smell of the cigar ates.

I used to smoke, then I quit and couldn't stand the smell anymore. So I sprayed all my furniture with Frebreeze (they have a smoke formula too). It took about 3 times of spraying it all and having it dry, but the smell finally was totally gone.

You can spray white vinegar all over it till it is wet (remove cushions and spray them separately) and allow to dry in the fresh air and sunshine for the day. With a little breeze blowing through it, the vinegar will dry fast and the stink will be carried away.

I found that if you use the febreeze made for cars it will get the smell out of anything.

And it works on second hand smoke.

Have the furniture professionally cleaned. They have some great products for that kind of problem. Good luck.
