technically it's not classed as part of the uk.. so they could.. but there was a big stink about it, and they have been told that will have to change if it hasn't already..

it's the same with drinking, you may notice tins of beer etc will go up in price. oddly they price probably won't go up on spirits as much like whiskey.. wonder why.. oh yer because thats what THEY drink.

i found it funnier about the smoking ban, and stoke? I think forgot to put in the license for it, so they had a few months where you could smoke in pubs, and the law couldn't do anything about it, due to the council being forgetful.

although some pub owners have got stupid amounts of fines for basically saying sod it and letting people smoke in their pub. they should have left it for the pubs to decide I think, as they are loosing a lot of trade, even if people go outside, they are moaning about the outdoor heaters they use.

wonder how many people moaning also drive a lot and take cheap air flights to Europe etc ;-)

Yes, because the House of Commons is situated inside the Palace of Westminster. Royal palaces are not public buildings, therefore not covered by the smoking ban.

No they are not allowed to smoke in the house though some are breaking the rules. At the moment smoking is allowed in psychiatric hospitals untl the summer. It is allowed in prisons and prisoners are now offered a smoking or non smoking cell.

they can smoke freely in the house of commens. its one law for the public and one law for the liars thieves and criminals!! that we laughingly call MPs. every body keeps trying to get an answer to that question and none of the commens scum that are asked will give a straight answer. mind you! i dont think that trash know how to tell the truth about any! thing. i wonder when the British public are going to wake up and start electing honest!! people with an open charge of treason hanging over those who are thinking of lying or decieving. when are the public going to grow tired of the hail of lies that they inflict on us every day of our lives.

  • It is true to say its not illegal to smoke in the bars of the palace of Westminster. However it is against the rules that Parliament sets for its self, and if member are found to be smoking action will be taken against them.

yes. I think they have a smoking room but it is more than any workplace has now.

Disgusting, they should practice what they preach.

The only ones who can smoke indoors in a public place now are criminals and politicians.
