Invitations?

How far in advance do you send out your invites?

I havent bought or even started making them yet. There is a little under 4 months till the big day.

Should I send out the interstate and over seas ones before the local ones? The people involved that are travelling already know and have made their travel arrangements, the invite is just a formality...........I just have no idea when to send them out. Thanks for your input.

Send them locally like 4 in advance, so that people can make sure they are off work, have childcare, do not have other plans and so on. Family is not that big a deal because they have all known for a long time. Overseas, if it is not necessary to have the invite, but you are still sending then 6 weeks.

The general rule of thumb is to send out invites 2 months before your wedding day. For guests who have to travel, send the invite as soon as possible. But, since they already know and have made their arrangements, that's not an issue.

Normally people send them out about 8 weeks in advance. Since the people who are travelling to get to your wedding have already made plans to be there, there is no need to send them sooner.

Usually people send them out 6-8 weeks before, but i have heard of others sending them as early as 3-4 months before. If your out fo town guests already have made arrangements, I would not stress about it! Send them out within the next couple weeks! Good luck to you and your fiance!!

6 to 8 weeks before the wedding. You don't have to send the overseas ones first, you can send them all at one time.
