Which exercise equipment would I use? I'm a first timer.?

Okay, I won a 3 month membership to a gym and I'm really excited but I don't know what to do first and how to get a routine going. I am a mother of 4 - 5'3" 125 lbs. My object is not to loose weight but to tone my body. My main issue is to gain strength in my legs, tighten the butt, and gain endurance again. I've never really worked out before. I could use some suggestions or knowledge as to how to go about this.

Bench Press tones arm muscles as well as back and stomach.. You flex your abs as you push back up the bar from your chest.

Various different exercises with dumbells (light weight more reps) will tone your arms, shoulders and back muscles.

As long as your using a light weight.. not totally straining and do a ton of reps you'll be toning.

Squats will tone your legs and butt. Remember to keep the weight lighter ..and do more reps..other wise. .you'll get bulky.

For endurance I'd recommend an eliptical machine. They usually have different settings you can choose that alternate as if you're going "uphill" or on a flat surface.. and the good thing about them is there is little impact on your joints (unlike using a tredmill where there's pounding on your ankles and knees)

If you want to bulk up a bit.. use heavier weight with less reps..

There are a number of machines that can help you target different areas. Most gyms have a machine that works your inner and outter thighs.

Calve raises will help tone up your calves along with a stair stepper

I accept as true with what the primary man mentioned and I have the weights and dumb bells. I love them. However I even have the next. a million. A Nordictrak Treadmill with I Fit Card Slot I have the private Trainer operating via the I Fit Card and I love that I am making growth on those exercises. two. I have a Yoga Mat and the Yoga Zone Collection. These matters preserve me in nice form and I love looking the Biggest Loser on my DVR that's mounted to my Treadmill! That TV maintains me at the Treadmill longer than some thing. I simply flip off the timer so I can watch the monitor the IFIT Card pushes me and maintains me relocating and I get a nice exercise

Best advice....Since you spent nothing on a membership, spend 50 dollars on a trainer. dont get the pretty boy..Find the high strung coffee drinker male or female. The one who cant set still..Tell them to try and make you cry during your session....Then repeat what they taught you for your three months.

Ask them about "super slows" That is the only way I work out.

by the way, good on you for having four kids and not being a lazy chubby person.

try squats variety of angle, side, front of course

do lungs for more butt tighten.

for endurance when you do those exercises do not rest and talk to someone between sets.

    which called circuit training.

    3-6 exercises non-stop

but make sure posture and do each reps carefully.

if you can afford hire a trainer.
