OK, Enough..........?
I've been wiccan for 13 ish years now, and I am really starting to get annoyed by all this oh you're gonna burn in hell stuff. Christians, you can threaten us with the eternal afterlife in Satan tender mercies all you want, but there is no Devil in Wicca, so your point is moot. And would you ever stop trying to scare people. Good Goddess, if anyone ever disagrees with you its all fire and brimstones.
Didn't the bible say 'Let he who is without sin cast the first stone'? Cast your minds back to the most blood-soaked book in the history of the world, written by a 'Christian' - The Witches Hammer. People are intelligent enought to decide for themselves now.
In 13 years of wiccanism I have not cavorted with demons, or the devil and my soul is safe as In Wicca all who wish entrance to Summerland upon leaving this life, shall gain it.
Any other Wicca also had enough of this psuedo christianity?
No I don't find that verse useful as twenty pages after it, there's bound to be a contradiction to it.
No I don't want to read 23 minutes in hell. I don't believe in hell.
Yes I do spells, but nice spells.
Yes the christians suffered persecution but The Witches Hammer, a 'christian' book, gave detailed explanations on how to catch, torture and kill witches. Do you not know about the Salem Wtich Trials?

Honest - Calling for less persecution just will not help make some people stop. Some believe it's part of who they are - to try and convert everyone they meet to their path. Some people are trying to upset you - as this brings them joy - they have a lonelier path.
I have been here in R&S a year and half now - and heard your request often - from many paths. You just have to ignore them and focus on the good people.
If your a true first time visitor being in R&S is a test of your path, and of human nature. So always expect the worse - until proven good people form your contact list. If you have been here for any length of time you know the ebb and flo of R&S, sometimes people are tolerant - sometimes not so much. Always check the bio before making a judgement on a person.
Develop a thick skin fast as the heat will only get hotter if your really upset.
Your path is just a valid as any other so please stick around.

I've been Wiccan for 22 years now. I left Christianity when I was in my teens, because I started to think for myself and saw just how ridiculous and even downright evil some of their beliefs were. Then I became an atheist for about ten years, before I felt drawn back to religion via Nature spirituality and meditation. The reality of the Goddess and the Horned God of Wicca has been proven to me many times over, and there is precisely zero chance that I will ever leave this religion. I've been ordaned clergy for nearly 20 years now, and I have also prayed to the Lord and Lady that ALL of my future reincarnations I will come back to Wicca.
I can certainly understand where the Christians are coming from, because I was a bible-thumper once myself. Same for the atheists who imagine that all religions are irrational fantasies. I used to be in that mindset too, before the Gods whacked me upside the head and made me pay attention, and showed me the world is stranger and more wonderful than I could ever have imagined.
I have some compassion for both the Christians and the atheists who are out to push their viewpoints on everyone else. Really, I do. But that does not make it any less obnoxious and wrong, what they are doing. And I feel that I'm doing the Christians a favor by pointing out just how ridiculous many of their beliefs are, and how thoroughly they have been brainwashed by fear, in order for them to actually believe that stuff.
(Here I must also give credit to the atheists for pointing out similar things. But the atheists lose points because they keep blaming "religion" or "all religions" for the sins that belong to monotheism alone. That is not honest, or fair, or ethical, or rational.)
The evangelicals really are trapped in a religion that hooks people in with FEAR, and keeps them stuck there. And when they preach at you so fervently, what they're really doing is trying to silence their own inner voice of fear and doubt, that is inside their heads. They will never silence it by preaching at others, but they keep hoping they will, so they keep on.
The good news is that even the most stuck Christians can often be snapped out of their brainwashing, if they are forced to really examine their beliefs and think about them. There is only so much dishonesty and evasion that the human psyche is capable of before it rebels and is forced to admit the truth. As we all know, many if not most of the Pagans today were raised in a Christian background; and many of them were very devout and fervent Christians at one time, just like me. So there is hope for many of these people.
Yes, it's tedious to engage someone in a discussion when it's clear that their mind is tightly closed and locked. And it can be even more tedious when some of the things they keep saying are so silly and immature. So nobody should feel obliged to do that, of course. But if you can do it and have fun with it -- make it a game of sorts -- then it can be a worthwhile thing.
Like most pagans, I look forward to the day when all the monotheistic religions dwindle and fade, to where they have at most a few percent of the population as adherents. That's what we need for true religious freedom, tolerance and diversity: a great rebirth of many diverse religions, with thousands of Gods and Goddesses. In other words, the rebirth of paganism. I do think that it's inevitable that will happen someday, provided our misguided species does not manage to kill this sacred planet first.

I'm not wiccan, but i did do a project on it for my religion class. When I was researching it, I stumbled across soooo many hate sites made by Christians. I was completely shocked that these so called "loving" people would go that far. I've had enough of Christianity's bad attitude in general. Thats why I became agnostic.

Wiccans weren't at the Salem Witch Trials.
And we practice Wicca, not Wiccanism.

I completely understand what youre saying and how you are feeling. I dont consider myself a wiccan yet, i have been reading on it for almost 10 years, but i yet dont feel i have enough knowledge, but i can tell you this, people especially Christians are very ignorant, all they do is defend themselves with a place call hell, oh so u are wiccan?? youre going to hell, oh so u have tattoos, oh well youre going to hell (lol but if its a Jesus tatoo then youre fine) you understand what im saying. Ok, i work as a sound engeneer on the weekends at a radio station, and sundays there are alot of religious shows, and one day i was reading one of my books on wicca, and i overheard one of them saying, uuuhhhh, becareful with the witch, shes going to cast a spell on us, how silly, Oh my god, i swear i wanted to get out of my chair and Punch her in her face, but instead i looked up from my book straight in her eye, and just stared in her eyes until she looked down, lol ,just to freak her out, All i can say is what kind of religion need a "monster" called satan to keep their followers from sinning??? sorry for my spelling

hi Dave, you opened a can of worms right here. yet no longer all terrorists placed on turbans. in basic terms examining between the strains that middle eastern women individuals do no longer placed on turbans so would they be allowed to stay. if so then this may well be classed as sexist and not racist. i contemplate whether there are any woman terrorists in this usa. substitute into in IKEA the different day and those women individuals who placed on the completed length gown and veil scare the **it out of me. they may well be hiding something below there. No ask your self that woman have been given sacked for scaring the babies in college. maximum suitable answer would be to scrap all diverse religions for the two one or none and then ask your self what every person is then going to combat and terrorise others for.

Possibly christians get loyalty points for recruiting new members to their army of clones. Ever wondered why the French word for christian is the same as their word for cretin? :-) I had to work with an ex-crackhead turned god-botherer (the worst kind) who kept on lecturing me (very early in the morning) about how I'd be sorry when I got to hell. I preferred her when she was on crack, she was less boring!
Er, the problems the christians went through? How about the crusades and slavery and all the death they've caused, supposedly in the name of god, while trying perpetuate their bizarre mythology?
If only they'd keep their relationships with god, just between themselves and god.

I am not a Wiccan, but I do believe everyone should have the right and respect to believe in whatever they choose.
The ONLY two religions that spews hatred and violence if their faith is questioned is Christianity and Islam.
Now some Christians will say that they do not kill people for not following the Christian faith, unlike Islam, BUT, they would if they could!!!

Be not angry with the souls that have no understanding of what our true being is,they deserve our understanding and our prayers of spiritual enlightenment so they may find their true selfs and start to grow.If we send negative energy out into our universe thats is what will come back to us,but if we send positive energy out into our universe that is what will come back to us,so forgive their ignorance and be happy that you have found the right path.

as an atheist that's generally well disposed toward Wicca, I applaud you for taking a stand for your religion against the baseless threats and condecending mannerisms of the christian faith
