Boy/boy, girl/girl, or boy/girl??
I am 9 weeks pregnant w/ twins, and I am so excited to find out what I am having!! We want a boy and a girl, but we will be happy no matter what we just want healthy babies!! Out of curiosity, how uncommon is it to have a boy and a girl twins? They are fraternal, which means they are in separate sacs. I would think it would be more common to have girl/girl or boy/boy based on the travel rate of sperm (male sperm don't live but 48 hours but are faster, female live longer but are slower), so you would think if one male sperm got there the other is probably a male too?? I'm not sure, so what do you all think??

Yes, I think it's a 50/50 chance, no matter how fast the sperm go. It's kind of like the tortis (worng spelling...) and the hare: Just finish the race! So the sperm just have to get there... anyways:) Well, I think whatever God gives you will be a miracle! Multiples run in my family: fraturnal multiples, because my mom and my grand mother have "active ovaries" and produced more than one egg every month. So, we weren't surprised to find out my mom was having multiples: twins! Or so we thought.... we go to the hospital at maybe 7-10 weeks along and the tech says "oh wow, three babies, what a blessing" and my mom was like "what? 3 babies? Oh my goodness!!!" So, we were all in shock for a while, but we got over it. Then at 22 weeks, we found out: 2 boys and 1 girl. Well, at 27 weeks, we found out it was actually 3 boys. So, my brothers are aged 5, 2, 2, 2. And then, my mom found out she was having twins: but they weren't fraturnal like we had thought, they were identical... so 2 un-related multiple births... yeah. So anyways, I know GG and BB and GB twins that are fraturnal... odds are probably 50/50. Good luck and God bless!

EDIT: Okay, here are some twin facts:
-In the 21st century, 3% (3/100 or 1/33) births are twins.
Of the five types of twin births, about 40% are fraternal boy/girl, followed by girl/girl fraternal and boy/boy fraternal. Identical twins are the least common, with boy/boy identical representing the least common percentage of all twin births.
Order of frequency:
1. fraternal boy/girl
2. fraternal girl/girl
3. fraternal boy/boy
4. identical girl/girl
5. identical boy/boy
I guess I take back what I said about 50%... sorry:)

I think it's a fifty fifty chance for each of the two babies.
My aunt had a boy and a girl last year.
It was really cute.
And if they are both the same gender, it'll be cute too because they will look different.
Congratulations.
Edit: I've read a lot about the sperm travel speed and I just don’t seem to think it's right. Just my personal opinion of course, you don't have to take it of course. I know many many people who had regular unprotected sex as soon as they got married. Some of those have girls, and others have boys. It seems to me that if the sperm travel theory was right, most of them would end up with the same gender.

Giving birth to a new life is indeed a blessing which almost every woman would wish to have. How to get pregnant naturally https://tr.im/TqXjZ
Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

Well...I got pregnant the 2nd day of my period and my husband and I had sex two days before and we are having a little boy...We joke about how all the other sperm got lost and this one did too and found the egg on the way back. My cousin just had two male fraternal twins, but I know a lot of people that do get both.

Congrats on the twins! You'll have lots of fun..it'll be hard work, but twice the joy!
I had twins. Two little girls. Leigha and Caren.
I'm not sure what the percentage is for which is more likely...but congratulations on the babies!
Hope they're healthy!! =)
