Race and Gender and Democrats?
Are Democrats incapable of civility when it comes to race and gender? As I age, I am drawn further away from the Democratic Party; I am drawn away from the Republican Party on basic principles. But where does this leave us Independents? The Republican Party wants us to fear a foreign invader and the Democratic Party apparently wants us to fear each other.
Do you think any of the presidential candidates will be transformational? That is, will either of them unite the country so that it can heal economically, socially, and internationally?

At least the dems talk about race & gender... republicans like to pretend it doesn't even exist (like this whole "post-racial" nonsense they just made up out of thin air).
A lot of this controversy is stemming from right wing blogs and Fox news. For instance the (now discredited) Bill Kristol story in the NY Times that Obama was present at his churches more "controversial" moments (which he wasnt). This BS feeds a lot of the problems with the dems, more gutter politics from the right.
Granted, Hillary has been a bit underhanded with some of her (and her surrogates) rhetoric. But she's desperate, so it's somewhat expected.
As far as who's transformational? There's no question it's Obama. The world would respect us once more, and I believe every American can rally around him. He's not owned by corporations (like the other 2), I truly believe he means it when he says he represents us, the people... the money number's back that up.

Making me run from both too. The Dems because they have turned into a bunch of loons and the Repubs because they will not realize that Reaganomics will not work. Hell with both.
