Have you ever rescued an animal?
I have three pets... one was bought from my local Humane Society, the other rescued outside when it was just a baby, and one was bought from owners that pretty much abused him.
Has anyone found an animal or "rescued" one then kept it, or maybe gave it away to someone?
I don't wanna sound like I'm advertising, but the website below gives .6 bowls of food to a rescued animal if you click on the big "Click Here To Give--It's Free!" button. =D

I just thought I'd share that with everyone. =]

Yes .... not quite the way you meant it, though. Several years ago, my wife's German Shepherd/Golden Retriever broke through the ice on a river. Only her front paws and head were out above the ice, and they were rocking as the fast-flowing stream tried to suck her under the ice. I was able to go out on a log and drag her out by her collar, undoubtedly saving her from drowning.

Lets Say I Tried But It Died Afterwards. A Squirrel Drowned In My Pool, And I Took It Out and I Tried CPR (but i would never put mouth to mouth). I Actually Used A Stick and I Was Pushing Down On The Chest, And i Know I'm Retarded For Doing That But I Tried. And Then It Died. Another Story.........A Stray Cat Came To My House, And I Thought I Was Gonna Keep It, So I Named It JewLs. Then i Found Out That It Had A Broken Tail And Puss Came Out And All These Fluids. Ugh! I Almost Threw Up. So I Just Turned It Into The Vet And It Went To The Pound. So Sad. And Thats All. So I Never Really Rescued An Animal.

Actually when I was a little girl I brought home half dead birds, half run over sick cats, dogs you name it. What really cheesed off my mom is when I went hiking one day after school in the mountains with my guy friend John. I found a huge turtle, which I named Moses. It must have weighed 25 pounds or so I still don't know how we carried it home!

Yes. One time I was walking home from a party and I heard like this meowing and I followed it to a sewer. I went home and got my dad and he came and got the thing off and I went and found the cat. Later I gave it away to a family.
I clicked on the button =)

I was playing at the park after school one day and I saw this little bird huddled up to a tree trying to get out of the wind because a storm was coming and it looked really sad.. so I took it home and looked after it for a while.. then when it was better we let it go.
It was really cute.

I went to an animal shelter for a cat and there was one in the cage that was just rolling around and was so playful that I took it and a few months later I found out why it was so playful (It had kittens)

I once found a pigeon in our pool when I was a kid. I ran inside and told my mom. I sh*t you not, but my mom pulled out that bird and gave it mouth to mouth. I nearly lurched thinking of all the bird diseases..lol. But my mom actually saved that bird, and we kept it for a year before we took it to a bird sanctuary.
