This is an easy one for me, I am not a fan of the muffuletta personally. I know..I know...its a classic new orleans favorite but hey you cant like everything. Its the whole olive thing mainly..BLUCK... and I the po boy has so many ways you can go with it. SO regardless of your mood you can have one and it can be a little different each time. So my vote is for PO BOY for president.

By far the po-boy. But not a Subway one. New Orleans po-boys aren't the same. Hot fresh french bread with anything on it as a sandwich. My favorite place is Mother's or my home where we make all sorts of combinations. You could even make a Muffuletta on french bread.

how about a muffuletta AND a po boy...they have a po boy at Liuzza's thats french fries covered in debris(the brown gravy from the roast) it's unbelievably good and im sure unhealthy..but i could consider it a side for the muffuletta...mmmm!!!!!!!!

I gotta go with the Po Boy. But, I'm also not a huge huge fan of olives. I'll eat them, but sometimes muffulatas can be overkill. Plus, I like seafood better than processed meats. Another plus for the po boy.

What a thought provoking question. If you held a gun to my head, I would have to say the poboy, if only for the fact that a poboy encompasses dozens of different possible variations, while the muffaletta is really just one sandwich (different people use different meats/cheeses, but there's a basic recipe that's supposed to be followed).

Don't get me wrong, I love a muffaletta--especially from Central--but I also love being able to choose between, shrimp (add ketchup & hot sauce), roast beef (with or without swiss), hot sausage (with or without american), hamburger (ooh, occasionally I'll get one with grilled onions), ham & cheese (the good places will grill this up on the flat-top for a real tasty treat), a plain old turkey (when I'm going light), meatball (been a while since I had one), or a good ole french fry poboy. Of course I order all of those dressed, and damn if I'm not hungry now.

I consider the muffaletta a sandwich, while the poboy is a type of sandwich. It'd be like having to choose between a club sandwich and tacos.

Muffuletta, because there is veggies on it, cheese, meat and they are big so they are very filling.

Po Boys come in different varities though but you can get po boys in a lot of places. If you ever had subway, they taste just like them!

Franks-933 Decatur St is one of the best places to get a muffuletta sandwich or they place next to franks is really good to! =]

  • Po Boy, definitely.

Hot Sausage on french dressed with cheese add mustard.

I love muffelettas, but you can't beat a shrimp or roast beef po-boy, in my opinion.

An authentic muffuletta is much better than a po boy because deep frying seafood can hide bad seafood and hurts good seafood.

Oh man, it's really tough but I would kill for a muffaletta from Napolean House right about now! Oooh, but if someone could drench it in roast beef gravy that would be pretty nice, too....
