Any religion a cult?

Question

Webster defines a cult as:
1: formal religious veneration : worship
2: a system of religious beliefs and ritual; also : its body of adherents

I would argue based on that definition that all the religious folks here are members of cults.  CAn we rid R &S of this word since it is obviously used ignorant of its actual definition?

I will go along with that. The only reason that I have responded to it in the past was because My religion is called a cult here by every Baptist and Evangilist around.

Jesus is the one who set up his church as one that would have authority such as his chosen bishops which the priests are under them and parisioners under them. a cult is like a jim jones thing. mormanism is the only cult like non christian religion I can think of. Chris is pregidous against catholics, if Jesus appeared to him as the sacred heart he would call him a cultist for showing his heart like that.

but it also describes religion as belief or an institution of belief, i guess it can swing both ways, personally all religions are cults but belief from the heart is what truly matters, not what someone tells you to believe.

a cult? I will tell you as a catholic, I really do not know. but my church that I belong to is the true church started by Jesus christ in 33AD
