Bars, dives, and watering holes in the Santa Clara/San Jose area for late 20-somethings?
New to the area and I can't seem to find any when just driving around.
Anywhere live (local) bands play would be great too.

Boswell's - Live music. Fri-Sat. 1875 S. Bascom Ave, Campbell (South Bay/Silicon Valley), 408.371.4404.

Depends of what music you enjoy... Boswells is cool. Sometimes in the same shopping center, Red Rock has live music. Also Los Altos Bar and Grill can be fun, but is a bit more adult ambiance... Downtown Los Gatos also offers good alternatives for music; If you want to drive a bit further, in Redwood City you can go to the BBC club (pretty sassy!) Just for hang out, McGees in Castro St. in Mountain View is pretty cool and fun. The truth is, with the right company, and right attitude anywhere is great... If you just want to 'bs' try Kartuns in downtown Campbell... ;)

Boswell's in Campbell or Brittania Arms 3 locations that I know of...Cupertino, Almaden and downtown San Jose.
