Can You Name 4 Countries the United States Military Has Bombed in the Last 2 Weeks?
Yes. I asked the question to see if anybody else was aware of how their tax money was being used.
I see my question has triggered some reactionary anger in the "God Bless (only) America" crowd...how dare we even consider that spending one half of the world's Military Expenses, having 800 Military bases in other countries and bombing whatever country whenever the U.S. feels like it might be the root cause of the "terrorists" we now justify as the pretext for this Imperial expansion; just as "communism" was used to justify it in previous decades.
"American exceptionalism - that the United States alone has the right, whether by divine sanction or moral obligation, to bring civilization, or democracy, or liberty to the rest of the world, by violence if necessary...
Divine ordination is a very dangerous idea, especially when combined with military power (the United States has 10,000 nuclear weapons, with military bases in a hundred different countries and warships on every sea). With God's approval, you need no human standard of morality."
Howard Zinn
"Somehow I don't see how you can equate protecting our interests to imperialism." LOL
Really, it's just a coincidence that "our interests" have spanned time and distance...Nationalized Oil in Iran in the 1950s-not in "our interests" (Anglo-Iranian Oil Company,) but perhaps in the Iranians' interest?...

Democratic Governments in Guatamala (1954) and Chile (1973)-not in "our interests" (United Fruit Company/Anaconda Copper).

Apparently, you can't name 4 either, but you can go on a lengthy diatribe against the military. I don't believe we have bombed 4 countries in the last 2 weeks, although it's reasonable to believe that we have used explosive munitions in either Afghanistan or Iraq. Somehow I don't see how you can equate protecting our interests to imperialism.

Sure. Why is the US military bombing? Did you ever wonder? Since you think the military costs so much and is not worth it, how about we scrap it immediately? That way the rest of the world will follow suit. We can all sit around the campfire holding hands and singing kumbya. Then we can all be friends.

We bombed the crap out of terrorists in the Sudan, Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan in the past 2 weeks. Hopefully, in the next 2 weeks will bomb the crap out of the terrorists in Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, Lebanon and Berkeley.

Why do people equate not wanting to wantonly kill and destroy with cowardice. Thats plain ignorance. And more than likely also the kind of person who probably talks mad yap and soon as you knock them in the face, they run away.

What is this question for, Liberal Science class?
Whoever we bomb usually deserves it. Most of the time, we target areas where terrorists have strongholds, not random areas because we feel like it.
