What do peeps and easter grass have to do with Jesus?

Did the Pharisees throw marshmallow ducks at him or something? What about jelly beans? Eggs? BASKETS? Did his disciples bring him gift baskets filled with candy to welcome him back from the dead? This is all a bit confusing...

Update:

I'm 19, and you're never too old for peeps!

Easter grass is in honor of teh Ceiling Cat - kittehs eat it in his honor - at least my kittehs did when they were alive.

In Jesus's day, the baskets often had bread and fish in them - we've simply updated them with modern alternatives like Peeps, jelly beans, and chocolate. Nom, nom, nom.... :)

    Peace!

Eggs and chicks are a symbol new life, such as the resurection of Christ. Jelly beans represent small eggs. The baskets full of candy and junk and the Easter bunny however is all about business. Thats capitolism.

For Easter food check the Food channel - right now in MSN there is this question explained from the History channel. (At History.com there is a TV show for each holiday.)

this is one case, where i can honestly ask "WWJD?"

would he run through the store tearing easter baskets and bible coloring books from the store shelves? (i saw a guy doing that just last week....he didn't admit to being jesus, though) regardless,

but He would probably be one p.o.'d deity....dontcha think?

That is why Easter's name needs to be changed to Resurrection Sunday. Easter, the bunny, and all that stuff is a pagan holiday.

it's just a Pagan holiday for those that don't believe in the resurrection of Jesus. Guess they think some magical bunny is gonna save them from fiery damnation.

    ok take some peeps

let them sit on your counter uncovered for 48 hours

let them firm up and get stale realllllllly hard

put a tooth pick in each of them and throw them in the microwave for two minutes

    PEEP JOUSTING

what could be more jesus like!

They are the modern remnants of the Pagan celebrations of spring and rebirth. They have nothing to do with Jesus.

Little known fact: Jesus laid Easter eggs after his resurrection.
