Ever have this happen, and why isn't yahoo more UP on their business?

I had a question reinstated after it was "reported by the community". I PROVED that it was in NO WAY a violation of the community guidelines, only to receive another violation notice an hour later with the reason being "solicitation"-which it is NOT!

WHY should I have to prove TWICE on the same question that a question is not a violation of community guidelines? Shouldn't there be some sort of "double jeopardy" law in the guidelines so this doesn't happen? This is not the first time I have encountered this issue.

lol. So they actually check those things every once in a while. They have fail-safes and back up violations. They have laws just waiting on us to do something. They cannot admit their system doesn't work. "If the right one don't get you then the left one will.

Somebody needs to grow up, but it isn't you. The so called 'Community Guidelines' are not under any type of law, with the exception or threatening, racist, pedophile and those sorts of posts. Same things that are illegal for a newspaper or magazine to print.

Two violations for the same question, with different reasons proves two things only. 1) The so called Guidelines are too subjective and the Trolls know that, 2) The Community cannot police itself without some form of control at the top. Automatic VN's and suspensions can be generated simply by one troll using 2 accounts to 'report' a question.

I agree that Yahoo needs to take more responsibility for the conduct on this site and either enforce the 'rules' for all..or none.

I asked a question about a story Yahoo ran on the home page a few days ago, and violation. I am appealing, but with little to no hope on it. There should be some sort of block that would run on a question that is reinstated. Much like we cannot delete a q after we have chosen best answer, there should be a way it is not deleted...grrrr..I feel your angst here Mami.

Well it seems to me that you are the only one ever to win a temporary appeal or any appeal for that matter. So here is the score.

    Trolls 1,987,798,886,451 to 1

We've got our work cut out for us, but if Rudy could do we can 2.

I had that happen with an answer, I won the first appeal only to be shot down on the second. I pointed out that they'd already reinstated my answer. No dice. I lost.

I've been nailed with a double whammy once or twice. I get a VN for the question itself, and then another VN for the "additional details."

Not bloody fair, in both our cases!

I had the exact same thing happen and just got the standard reply when I appealed it a second time. It just ain't right!

Yahoo violations suck. They have no rhyme or reason and it is a very rare moment you will ever win against those bastards. They even told me the other day that posting a joke in jokes and riddles was a violation. WTF is up with that?

It makes sense what Johnny said. I have never won an appeal and feel I get more VN's than I should shortly after.
