Date setting must be a drug for the watchtower. When will they get the next fix?....lol. Didn't the term "drug abuse" come from the greek term "sorcery?" I'll have to check...

Anywho, I thought salvation dealt with Repentance as it is taught in Scripture. Most people can't remember their friends and family special days, much less the day of Jesus' death. The Bible just says that He died...it didn't give a time, date, or month.

I might have to get circus tickets to hear what this is all about.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves. Matt. 23:15

    Hi!

First of all, though I'm exactly sure of all the details of your question let's not forget what Jesus taught about KNOWING all the details. He said the guy who didn't know (but did wrong) would be "beaten with few stripes" and the guy who KNEW and did it anyway would get a "stiffer sentence" -He was referring to earthly masters, but the principle's the same!

Your "place in heaven" is however NOT dependant on your knowledge of WHEN He died, but WHY He died. (And lived again)

If you know He died for your sins, and you've accepted His gift of forgiveness, you're IN, even if you don't know the days of the week, or how many days are in September---gimme a BREAK! John 3:16; John3:36; Romans 10:9,10; Ephesians 2:8,9 For cryin out loud, It's on almost every gospel tract.

But..on the other hand, let's don't be too rough on the Jehovahs Witnesses, either. They're having a hard enough time being not allowed to celebrate Christmas. After aids, for example, they didn't look so totally dumb with their reluctance to take someone elses blood.

They taught that Jesus had come back in 1914 ..for a long time, Then they admitted, "Well, we made a mistake!"

That takes a lot of humility and I give 'em credit for that.

Still, it's these little picky, hair-splitting doctrines that get up everybody's nose. They're not ALL like that..arguing doctrine, and saying "We're the better ones, 'cause we know much better than you!"

They are trusting God in the Best way they know how..at this point.

They CERTAINLY don't have the world market on self-righteousness "cornered", do they?

They're not the only guys with some wacko, far-fetched doctrines either. (Got a few of my OWN!)

(I looked on the you-tube, alone, and I found at least 11 different clips telling me that this guy or that guy was the anti-christ, INCLUDING Bush, the Pope, and Juan Carlos- the poor, sweet, King of Spain fer cryin' out loud!)

What does it say..."Nevertheless Christ is preached!"

Jehovah's witnesses are more concerned about watchtower theories and not what Jesus Christ has done for all people on the cross and how He rose the third day and defeated death. They do not know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior so they make up silly ideas about salvation that one will not find anywhere in the Bible and they are a cult and so exhibit cult like ways

Moises_Friaz aka Moses Beyond has no idea what Salvation is and for what reason Jesus Christ rose from the dead and is alive forever more and if he did he would be worshiping Jesus Christ and not watchtower

    Jesus died on Nisan 14 33 C.E.

Most servants of God are not going to heaven. They will live forever on a cleansed earth. That is not a WT teaching. That is what the Bible says.

37:9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.

37:11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

37:29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

Hi, no, that is not a Watchtower teaching, although I would assume that all of Jehovah's Witnesses would know the date of Christ's death.

Never heard that one before. Not as such no. Firstly, it is up to God who goes where. Clearly part of being a Christian, would be knowing as much as possible about Jesus. That would include knowing when he died.

  • According to Moises_Friaz aka Moses Beyond it is a big deal.

I do not know that is their teaching. Hopefully AchtungHeiss or/and Keiichi will show up. I respect their answers

Come again? This must be another unbiblical teaching coming from the JWs. Edit: So according to them, we have to not only know what's not in the Bible but everything in it? Is that why they're taught that only 144,000 go to heaven?
