    Interesting quote. I like the fact that it makes me think intensely. In some aspects, it is right like when William Wilberforce argued with Thomas Clarkson on whether or not their peaceful movement should become a bloody revolution. But, at the same time, it may not be true. An immature person may not understand why the sacrifice of his or her life for the sake of a cause is necessary, but a mature person would apprehend the effects of the loss of their life for a cause.

    An immature man would not have the character to die. He would wiggle his way into compromising his principles just to save his own skin.

    A mature man has lived his life, and if satisfied would gladly die for his principles, because he knows that in their compromise there is no humility.

    True. The younger, eager ones go looking for greatness. The older, jaded ones stumble upon it during the course of living.

    I think of young, naive soldiers enlisting versus the great thinkers of history. The mind will continue working long after the body gives out.
