After posing a question, on what grounds do u select best answer?

its about who has answered my question the best and who fully understood what i asked and in some cases the person who i agree with if its opinion based

I find that most of the first answers are selected as the best, which shows that voting is done more for gaining a point rather than picking the really best answers.

The efficiency in which the person answers my question, or whoever answers first, or if I'm posing a question about a television show or song that I like whoever answers as I would would get the best answer.

The one that helped me the most, if opinion is needed its not that i want them to agree with me but knows where i am coming from if you get my meaning!
