Covering up a tattoo?

I've got quite a large black tattoo on my lower leg that I need to cover up for a day

Anyone have any experience of what the best thing to use to cover it up with?

I've seen these camouflage make up sets designed to cover tattoos and scars but are they actually any good?

Update:

lol I'm going to a wedding and I'm wearing a dress thats why I need it covered

I don't think a bandage would go with my outfit

Update 2:

Lady Pipkin it's just some random tribal design

I was 17 and thought the tattoo bloke was fit so I couldn't resist, so much so I went back for 3 others

It's one of those things when you grow up you think 'What the hell was I thinking??' lol

Dermablend Leg & Body cover (supposedly lasts 16 hours)-

    http://www.dermablend.com/productDetails.aspx?prod...

combined with a pair of nice stockings (not too sheer- a bit on the opaque side or maybe black lace patterned), as added insurance. They would smooth out any possible edges of dilineation between your skin & the makeup.

If it can help these people- http://www.dermablend.com/ShowTestimonials.aspx

,it should do the trick for you & your tatt. If you can't get it in time, try stage makekup. That can be greasy though, so use a bit of powder to set it.

Maybe splurge on some matching lingerie, too. It can give you that certain spark of extra confidence, Sort of like, "I've got a secret.. or two..." ;-)

Then kick up your heels & enjoy that wedding!

PS: I almost forgot this! Years ago, after an accident, I experienced some nasty "road rash" scarring on my shoulder, arm, hip & eye. I was then asked to be the Maid of Honor at my friend's wedding. I was to wear an off the shoulder, short sleeve, aqua gown...

Merle Norman put out a cream makeup that covered them all! Then, it was in a green compact. I haven't used it for a while, but believe now it's this one-

TOTAL FINISH Compact Makeup (maximum coverage) in a white compact -

If you can't get the Dermablend, Merle Norman is another option.

you could just wear pants. Or if you want to go with the cover up tattoo makeup, yeah it works really great! I have a huge lizard on my shoulder (thought it was cool back in the day) and for my wedding day I used that makeup stuff. You couldnt even tell I had a tattoo! I actually ordered mine from www.tattoocamo.com and I got all the information from a bridal magazine. I hope this works!

Dermablend is really good I use it for bruises.

Here is the review of a girl that used it for a black tat2, she gives great instructions :

    1. Apply a lighter shade to the tattoo to white it out. Make sure that you do thin layers and let each layer dry. When it looks like the tattoo is almost gone (it'll look very white) start applying thin layers of the shade that matches your skin color. Again, make sure each layer completely dries. This will take a long time so be patient. Then apply the setting powder. Let that sit for a couple of hours and then put on another layer of creme that matches your skin color. Put setting powder over that. That's all. You must have a lot of time for this to look good.

Oh and when you apply the setting powder it doesn't rub off !

Check with your local bridal shop. They sell some stuff, probably the stuff that others on here have mentioned, that covers tattoos very well. My sister was determined that I would cover mine for her wedding. In the end I didn't, though I did take out a couple of my ear piercings (gotta give a little I suppose).

use a foundation thats the same colour of your skin and rub it in well so its not as noticeable but if that doesn't work maybe wear some leggings or if your going in bare legged maybe put foundation on your legs then get some skin coloured tights to help cover up and make it less noticeable.or wear some big cute boots like what Kate moss wears for example

MAC has a really good cover up that works on tattoo's, ive used it twice for weddings and no one has ever said a thing!

You could either check out their website or find out where your nearest MAC is and they will let you see how it looks when its on.

Not much good unless they have improved over the past year , the make up drew more attention than the tat did on a friend of mine
