If a girl puts a motorcycle in her name, and her boyfriend makes "some" pmts on it, then wrecks it....

can the girl still take the bike away from him when she moves out?

Also, this bike has no insurance on it, and it can be fixed...do these "ninja" (that's what I call them), bikes sell? What I mean, is that do they have a good resale value? If we were to fix up this bike, are their plenty of guys/gals out there that want these? Some people call them crotch rockets. I don't remember the make/model of the bike just yet. I still have to go and get it.

Just curious.

It's "YOURS" I would say go get it , take it to a bike shop

have the damage accessed see how much it will cost to fix .

Find out if maybe the damage is mostly cosmetic.

Then take the number from the damage estimate and find

out what NADA value is and if it's worth fixing ..

Go and take a MSF course. Your DMV will have more information. Pass the class, get your 10 to 15% discount

on your Insurance and go enjoy your new CROTCH ROCKET

Good Luck..... He will die with envy, when he finds out your

    riding on the open road....

how did you finance a bike and not have it insured. that makes no sense. the bike is in your name you are responsible for anything

that happens to it. you said your useless

boyfriend crashed it how bad is the damage.

unfortunately sport bikes do not have a real good resale value. if you could email me a picture of the bike i can tell you how much you will be looking at to fix it. go get the bike now.

You are the one who owns the bike, just because you got a sucker to make a payment or two is irrelevant. The problem is you are responsible for the bike and having insurance on it is your obligation. As for resale you would be better off as someone else said, just fixing it and learning to ride it yourself. Good luck!

the owners name is on the papers, the boyfriend can buy it outright, and not discount the damages he did, or he can butt out. I wouldn't by my squeeze a bike, on this basis. "Borrowed becomes bent"-every time. Unless you gave it to him he has little claim, ask J Judy if you like-lending things mechanical and petrol powered is always risky-lean your lesson. Resale value-not that great, they're all thrashed to death, you might not get back what has to be spent. I'd be making sure he pays for ALL the damages-with a lawyer and debt collector as needed. Make sure it's a professional repair, not Dodgy Bros or Midnight Mechanics Inc.

A wrecked bike , thats what ya get when ya let a jerk on it who know's nothing about it . Go get your bike and take his butt to court for the damage he did to your bike. Why should you pay for what he wrecked. It's your bike , he wrecked it , make him pay for the repairs. Maybe that will teach the jerk not to go and jump on someone else's bike and wreck it . Can I borrow your car ? I want to go wreck it so you can fix that too . I mean , if your gonna let him get away with it then why not me ? He thinks that because he's your boyfriend you wont make him pay for the damage he caused , and he'll get away with it unless you take him to Judge Judy.

Who ever has the pinkslip in there name is the owner no matter who makes the payments. If you are the owner it is your bike!! If he makes payments he has no legal ties to the bike!!!!!!!!!!
