Why is it that Preists can marry, but Nuns cannot?

    Priests can be married if they were a married Protestant minister who converted to Catholicism.

    There are no Protestant Nuns, so they can't laterally move the same way.

    When did priests start getting married? Besides, nuns are considered married to God. They all wear wedding rings.

    Catholic priests can not marry.

    Orthodox priests can be married if they were married before becoming a priest. If single when entering the priesthood, then they most remain single.

    Catholic Priests can not marry. Episcopal ministers/priests can marry. There are far more Catholics than Episcopals, but sometimes, if you don't ask it is hard to tell which is which.

    A married Catholic man **MAY** become ordained a priest, but, not the other way around.

    Nuns are the Brides of Christ.

  • Catholic priests cannot marry but there is a Greek orthodox catholic church they can, which I didn't know about until the other day!

    If you are talking about Catholic priests, they cannot marry either. They take a vow of celibacy
