I've never taken that but I did drink a whole bottle of castor oil and take an enema, It put me into labor alright BUT I would not recommend this to anyone! I was not a very enjoyable experience. Plus it doesn't work for everybody and you wouldn't want to go through that for nothing.

Raspberry leaf tea is meant to work when you are drinking it from the second trimester on. It strengthens your uterus for labor so that you have fewer, stronger, more effective contractions.

It isn't a labor stimulator. It is a labor toner.

    It won't cause contractions.

Source(s): I drank it through my first pregnancy and my whole labor, start to finish lasted 7 hours. I pushed for 10 minutes. Of course, i am drinking it through this second baby too!!

Red raspberry leaf tea doesn't do anything to start labour. It is used as a uterine toner to help make your uterus stronger (it is also useful if you suffer from painful menstruation cramps). You can start drinking it as soon as you find out you're pregnant.

I haven't heard of it being used to induce labor, but I have heard of it being used to promote a healthy pregnancy because it is rich in nutrients.

There are other herbs that are used to induce labor, but they have to be used with utmost caution and supervision.

Be careful. Herbs can be as potent as any drug. That said you have to use restraint in how much you consume, just as you would any drug.

The link attached is very helpful and informative on what herbs to take when pregnant, their uses and their properties.

It doesnt help start labor...it helps early labor contractions get closer and stronger together...it doesnt jump start!

That's because a lot of those home remedies don't actually work.
