Old Pc games that use Dos........?

My wife would like to play some old Pc games. Apparently they need something called Dosbox.

Does anybody have any more info on Dosbox.

Where can I safely get it from?

Are there any sites which you can safely download old Pc games?

Dosbox is just an x86 emulator. For some old DOS games, they don't work on the newer PCs, so you have to use an emulator if you want to play those games.

www.dosbox.com, that's where you go to download it.

As for games, you're on your own. I believe it's illegal to download those games but there might be some games that are released to the public, which you can download for free without committing software piracy.

You do need DosBox. Todays pcs are too fast and the old software never used to check for speed, just ran as fast as it could.

http://www.dosbox.com/ is the official website otherwise you'll find that you can get through a whole year in Theme Park in just 37 seconds!

personally I have a couple of older computers that I use to play older games on. You can check around and may even find some old laptops that will work for under $50.

It's already part of Windows - just run the game!

There's a chance that it might not work, but there won't be much you can do about it.

The DOS Box is also known as the command prompt.

Click on Start, Run and type 'cmd.exe' and press ENTER.
