Is Social Ethics not commonly practice now a days to women when dining out with their man?

This becomes a big issue and these poor servers who were oriented to do their job in in a proper conducts are getting the brunt of some Feminist . Does any one finds that it is tacky for a woman to put her wallet near her plate while eating so the server will put that frigging tab tray in front of her ?

Update:

kill_y The topic is one on one, not a group meeting lunch or party,I can handle footing the tab in a tactful way in front of men by not putting my purse/ wallet near my plate while eating.

Update 2:

kill_y Unfortunately my job is not a server, dining out in a posh restaurant is common to me and I believe that the server does not care who pays customer's meal the man or woman. If I treat a gentleman for a dinner I arrange to pay in advance discreetly or invite him in my house for a candle dinner, it does not matter to me if he is an average Joe the Plumber or Donald Trump.

Servers should not be making assumptions about who will pay. If someone asks for the check, then it is clear that this is the person who will pay it. If no one has asked, then servers should present the bill in a neutral way, not automatically present it to the male. For all the server knows this is a female boss having a business meeting with a male subordinate, or otherwise a lady treating a guest to a meal.

Consider that if the table were all men or all women, the server wouldn't make any assumptions about who gets the bill -- if he/she did, that could create some awkwardness as the diners would have to deal with that unwarranted assumption. A lady laying her credit card on the table is merely an unobtrusive way to prevent insensitive servers from making this awkward mistake. Unless we are living in an ideal world where servers don't make unwarranted assumptions about who gets the bill, then such signals are both useful and desirable.

If you, as a server, have a problem with accepting the idea of ladies treating gentlemen then perhaps you are in the wrong line of work. Your "the male should get the bill" attitude will not go unnoticed and these ladies will be tipping you less than you might receive if you attitude were "it's none of my business who pays the bill as long as it gets paid."
